@Aurthur, but can you then explain how we are able to hear frequencies from a headphone of <13.5kHz? 13.5kHz equals about 1 inch, so anything below that frequency, and thus with a greater wavelength, you would not be able to hear? Or would it be distorted? How does it work?   Not criticising...

In that pricerange you don't usually need an amp.   I think the Shure SRH440 might be a good fit. They go for $67 at amazon. From what I remember they've got a pretty decent bass, pretty comfy and overall a nice listening experience.

That looks like a good equalizer for Android. Maybe you could share with us where/how we could find that gem? (I googled but it wasn't very fruitful)
