headphones and amp for around 100

ok so im a noob when it comes to amps and good headphones, i want to get both for around 100$, i manly lisen to music at my desk so the amp doesnt have to be portable. do i even need a amp with my bugget or should i just get 100$ headphones. i manly lisen to electronic/dance music

Hmm, depends on the headphones you get.  You can get a decent set of cans for that price that don't need headphones, i.e. Sennheiser HD205 (be super careful when it comes to that cable...ran through three sets), maybe some decent Sony cans.  Maybe take a look at Shure cans as well?
 
I'm a noob as well, and I don't even own an amp....which is kinda silly-sounding when you hear what type of headphones I bought for "portable" use :p

In that pricerange you don't usually need an amp.
 
I think the Shure SRH440 might be a good fit. They go for $67 at amazon.
From what I remember they've got a pretty decent bass, pretty comfy and overall a nice listening experience.
