Cheapest way to making custom earplugs while being safe?
Silicone caulk in one's ear is not a good idea. Most are acid curing and will release some amounts of acid and will burn, or at the very least irritate the hell out of the skin in the ears. Pure silicone caulk only would take too much time to set anyway. Now, oogoo could be a possibility...- deadsea

Spray painting help
This might help with spraying tecniques. http://www.spruecutters.com/techniques/141-video-tutorial-6-spraying-gloss-paint-from-a-spray-can.html But if you really want a high gloss finish, you will need to do a fair bit of sanding to get the surfaces totally smooth before the primer > gloss...- deadsea

Question for an ATH-M50 modular headset mod
The 4 contact jack (TRRS) can accept the typical 3 contact plugs. You'll want that for the headphone side. Try mouser or RS if you're ok with buying online. Providing which country you're from might help too. :D And since you already have a boom mic, Why not just attach a jack to the end and...- deadsea

Does amazon ship headphones to Australia?? if not, where can I get it with 'Amazon price"??
Might want to have a look at DDelectronics. They do have an australian number you can call too. The prices are not Amazon good, but they're close enough to warrent a second look. I've bought some camera stuff from the Singapore branch before. There's even a discount for self pickup. The...- deadsea

Ironbuds - indestructable earbuds?
Well, thats a sort of but not quite scenario isn't it. I've had a fair few pairs of earphone cables break on me, but it's always been at the jack there, never in the middle of the wires and those things have a heck of a lot of jacks. From my previous experiences at least, if it doesn't get...- deadsea

Ironbuds - indestructable earbuds?
More like too many detachable cables. That 4 part Y split doesn't really serve any purpose does it? Well, maybe if the hp jack broke, but it just introduces another jack at the other end to break... And another 2 on the side of the driver connections? Yeah, more stuff to break/snap...- deadsea

Home-Made IEMs
Oh no, I'm not saying if it's good or bad. Just wanted to put the fact that it's biodegradable out there and preferably in caps and bold flashing neon lights. I've actually seen a website dedicated to trashing the material because some idiot decided that it's a good idea to make artworks out...- deadsea

Home-Made IEMs
Quote: The Polycaprolactone is very safe and it's bio-degradable too (Good? Bad?). There is the potential to need replacement every 2-3 years since in the proper conditions, it's supposed to fully break down in around 2 years. It's supposed to degrade faster when wet and exposed to...- deadsea

Custum Art Work On CIEMs
Waterslide decals? Like those used on models. There are places that do custom prints of those. Not all that lasting though. But that's pretty much the safest method. Really should consider contacting one of those reshelling companies if they are willing to just do the custom artwork for you...- deadsea

[FYI] Various IEM's tips pictorial comparison (updated Sept 29th, 2011)
Ah yes, apparently i was getting mixed up. Guess I'll stalk ebay for cheapish shipping or rummage through some china site for "oems". Thaks for offering to check though. ClieOS has mentioned that the meelec ones will fit, allbeit a bit loosely. And the irony that the soft flex greys are stiffer...- deadsea

[FYI] Various IEM's tips pictorial comparison (updated Sept 29th, 2011)
Would you mind posting back once you get to test out the Meelec Triflanges on the B2? I suspect they might not fit, as the tips appear to have a rather large bore from the pictures on the meelec site. I can't seem to find a local retailer that sells just the tips and the online prices for...- deadsea

Never forget your first...
EP-630. I've stepped on it a few times. Yanked it out accidently by the cable countless times, and wrapped it round a psp for the better part of 5 years. It's still wrapped round that same psp and is the gaming pair for my daily commute. B2s don't really give quite the same kick to monster roars. :p- deadsea

Brainwavz B2 Impressions & Discussion Thread
Does anyone know if the silicon tips for the B2 are knockoff shure ones? They're way too stiff and hurt after 40 mins or so. I'm thinking of getting the grey soft flex ones but don't have the time to pop down to a store to have a look. Heck, I don't even know if any stores around here carry...- deadsea

Re create the Vaccum like Feel of Beats/Bose
That reinflating ear pads sound very much like memory foam. Maybe visit a computer store and see if the laptop cases there feel anything like the pads. Or maybe a furniture shop for the memory foam pillows. Those coupled with that thread about DIY earpads should provide for a good number of...- deadsea
