clicks or gaps in dao cdr
ah. I just bought some new cdr's. They're those digital vinyl ones from verbatim, they look like a white label 45. They have scratch resistant coatings too. I'll have to see how they stand up in my lite-on. Guess I'll be using my philips cdr's for data only (wow i just now realized they were...- dddmt

yet another grado pads question
I tried turning the bowls around, it sounded better but the bowl side infringed on the cans ability to swivel (i dont mean the antennai looking things sticking out, but the c-shaped spastic that allows the headphones to slant to the shape of your head. Should I try squishing the pads and then...- dddmt

clicks or gaps in dao cdr
I backup all of my cds onto cdr's so I can put them in a cd wallet without having to worry about ruining my investment. I've been using using cdrdao, with paranoia-mode* set to 3, 4x burning speed, and DAO (I extract the TOC and the data). I'm still getting little clicks, or gaps, in cds that...- dddmt

I just recieved my grado sr-80's from listening station, And I love them for all types of music, except for techstep. The highs are so detailed in the 80's that i can no longer listen to tech step. The clarity was great, i was nearly halucinating while listening to a dieselboy album that I own...- dddmt

Hi. I've previously posted here asking similar questions, and I thank everybody for their help. But now there is some foginess I need cleared up. I'm investing in a portable rig, from scratch: I'm planning on buying buying a PDCP (not sure which one yet, probally the iRiver 550), some...- dddmt

Espically techstep. The Xin superdual has a nice bass-boost on it, I wont need to crank up the volume as much. I know what you mean tho, I lost a bit of my hearing from the Planet of the Drums tour. ******* dieselboy. I only have a few techstep cds, but its not really my style. I listen to...- dddmt

Building rig from scratch, uncertain and confused.
*sigh* Mabey I should have put this in the portables section. I'm strictly asking about the headphones. The setup is just a little info on what im trying to accomplish, as to supplement the question (line 4). I can understand somebody telling me how an ajustment to the setup slightly might...- dddmt

Soon to be away from school, need to build a portable rig, seeking advice.
Update: iRiver SlimX iMP-550 $150 & Grado SR80 $90 & Xin SuperDual $160 = $400 Tho I'm slightly hesitant on the SlimX. I heard horror stories about skipping, and I realize I could probally get a better source for the amp. Otherwise, it looks like it has a nice future with ogg vorbis... now...- dddmt

oh i have plenty of harddrive space. the laptop runs linux, not sure how the total bithead would work. dont know if its good either, or if theres other external sound cards/amps for pc's that would work better. i dont really need a crossfeed function :P- dddmt
