Full size can suggestion
Hey I'm really in need of help looking for my next set of cans. I don't really know if I want open, semi-closed or closed cans. I've previously owned SR125s (love the grado sound but they are lacking slightly in bass) and I currently have Atrio m5 IEMs and k240 MKiis. I would like to...- daveip

Perfboard JISBOS?
Hi I was wondering if anyone has an example of a perfboard built JISBOS. I've recently rebuilt and riased my SOHA from the ashes and I missed out on the PCBS. I just want some indication of component placement to minimise size on perfboard. I've tried looking around but I can't find anything...- daveip

M-Audio Q40 Impressions (long w/pics)
I'd just like to add my gratitude and input to this thread! I've been searching for a pair of headphones for a while but as I'm a student I'm on a pretty tight budget! I've been using the SR125s and considered getting the SR225s, but didn't really want to spend much more than £100. I love...- daveip

Here's a complicated one: Linux + Wine + foobar2000 + USB DAC
Good luck with the USB DAC being found in wine. I'm not sure how it can be done but I guess it must be able to some how. Can I suggest you use Amarok? I use it on my Linux partition with ALSA and OSSMixer. Its not that bad and if you can configure the MYSQL database for it, its lightning fast.- daveip

Portable DAC/Amp
Thanks dB. I thought I saw something somewhere but I couldn't quite put a finger as to where it was. Its not quite something I was looking for. I was considering using a battery pack in the case rather than it being purely bus powered. I'm not too big a fan of the dc boost and I intend to use...- daveip

I have $250 to spend on 2.0 computer speakers. Help me spend it.
on the question of sources, i've been using the x-fi notebook, my laptop's onboard sound and using the x-fi with a mini3/pimeta as pre-amp not that it needs one =S the differences in sound from each of the combinations was EXTREMELY apparant. i've settled for using my x-fi straight to the...- daveip
