You can try Audio-Technica ATH E40. It's sound is almost like MSR 7,but with smaller soundstage and less detailed. However, it's sound signature is almost like MSR7, the vocal performance is really good.

As an experienced MSR7 NC user, I think it is one of the best headphones that I ever heard. The instrument separation and detail is best in class and even rivas higher tier headphones. Bass is not the best in this headphone, what does great in this headphone is their smooth, lively vocals...

It seems I'm a Sony Fan boy XD, but I'm still like Audio Technica headphones better. The tuning style on Sony Headphones doesn't suit my taste :stuck_out_tongue:

I'm agree with you. Now my MSR 7 sound much better and it's detail was phenomenal. (Of course because of the cable upgrade though) compare to M50x, it's not an easy-drive headphone, a good amplifier is recommended to improve its bass performance and the richness of the sound. My current...

MSR 7 is a headphone that that doesn't sound good at start.... It requires plenty of burn in..... You will notice significant improvement in sound after burn in

Anyway, if you want to add more richness, detail, and better bass performance to your MSR, you consider to switch the cable to Sony one's.

As long any cable is a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, it can be used in Msr.

Today I listen over and over again to figured out the difference of sound between original AT cable and Sony's silver plated OFC cable. The sound is far more richer with Sony's cable. The overall sound is more detailed as well, high is less harshy and the bass performance improved. Mid range is...

If you want to improve the sound of msr7, I would suggest a cable upgrade though....

A week ago I bought a new Msr7nc, after I read some pretty good reviews from the web. However, I didn't like it's sound, although it's highs are less fatigue than m50x, but it sounds less detailed and HARSH, the lows are not tight and recessed (I know Msr7 got some issues with their bass). I...
