Amps that can drive the HiFiMan HE-6 planar headphones
Has anyone used HE6 or HE6se with the NAD D 3020 or D 3045? I'm looking for an amp, but don't have the space for a large power amp. How about the Audioengine N22? Has anyone used this amp? I'm also considering the Schiit Jotunheim 2.- Daemos

Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
Not quite useful...I was asking about the HE-400 not the HE-400i, which are two very different headphones.- Daemos

I know this post is very old, but the eletri-q parametric EQ file does nothing for me (in Eletri-Q when I import it, it changes nothing) but the foobar one works well. I am wondering though if the Eletric-Q one would work better...- Daemos

Quote: I used a 125W speaker amp...it's a warmer amp as well SS Yamaha. I'm sensitive to Sibilance though. I mean the HE-6 had a very full sound, very amazing, but the sibliance was too much, and it was still a little too bright.- Daemos

Okay, How do these compare to the HE-6? I sold my HE-6 a while back and I'm missing proper planars (I have modded T50RPs, but I prefer open back headphones). The one flaw I had with the HE-6 were that they were way too bright and had too much sibliance for my liking, even EQed you couldn't hide...- Daemos

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum
I sold my HE6 a while back, and I am looking for some alternatives that don't cost as much. I'm going to say max $500USD, less is preferable. What I loved about the HE6: They could be EQed very well The transparency amazing Very comfortable I could wear them all day long Sound stage was amazing...- Daemos
