Philips Fidelio X3
The metal part of the headband just needs to be stretched a little bit. You can just gently pull the headphones apart and slowly stretch it, kinda like the way you stretch it to put it on. Do this a few times until it's to your liking, or alternatively, leave the headphones in a stretched...- Cruelhand Luke

Philips Fidelio X2?!
Try leaving the pads in a container with some coffee beans/grounds to get the smell out. I used to sell cars and the guys that detailed our trade-ins would do that sometimes if a car smelled like someone had smoked in it. You can get replacement pads from Dekoni.... they feel great, but they do...- Cruelhand Luke

You keep missing the point. Changing from a 600ohm driver to a 32ohm is a HUGE indicator of what type of use case this is for. Giving us an incredibly long unbalanced cable is a mis step, regardless of what some product planner mentioned to you. You're acting as if all the proof you need is in...- Cruelhand Luke

From a Headfonia review that kinda trashes the T1.3 "T1.3 now features an extremely low 32-ohm impedance, along with a 100dB/mW sensitivity rating. No longer does the ‘T1’ moniker denote a boutique flagship that will only appeal to dyed-in-the-wool audiophiles, and only shine when hooked up to...- Cruelhand Luke

Yeah, a lot more thought has to go into it. I can't just plop headphones and amps on a table and call it done. For example, the boat is going to leak at some point, the trick is predicting where and then NOT having a bunch of electronics there.- Cruelhand Luke

The clamp.... that was another thing that reviews mentioned that I never found objectionable. Mine have also broken in a bit, they are still a little snug, but never bothersome.- Cruelhand Luke

That's fair. Any time you take a headphone apart, it might not go back together as tight. Mine is a little looser, in terms of, the earpads can be rotated without having to remove them altogether. But it's not loose enough to allow vibration.- Cruelhand Luke

Thanks for the input, but it seems like my point stands: the felt pads is more about filtering noise than controlling vibrations in the cup. I did try to put a gasket in place, it was a lot of tinkering for zero effect. The reality is the cups/interior structure of the T1.3 are really stable...- Cruelhand Luke

Philips Fidelio X3
Uhhh... many people don't actually like what the Dekonis do to the sound, myself included. I have a set of X3 that I modded and a brand new set and neither one of them likes the Dekonis, but it's been a while since I listened, so I can't tell you why. Maybe I'll put them on my stock set and...- Cruelhand Luke

4) damping/tuning. Whew, this is really personal, right? How it sounds to me might be very different to you. So... either you like it with the felt pulled or you don't. But, I do want to get deeeeep into the weeds for a second. OK there's different types of damping, right, There's mechanical...- Cruelhand Luke
