This might be a stretch, but I could now contemplate a Chord Hugo if I sell the ALO Rx MKIII and also a Fiio E17 and EK09 combo I have, and maybe downgrade the RWAK120 to a standard AK120 and stretch my budget up a couple hundred dollars?   Would the Chord Hugo run the LCD2s as well as an $800...

Thanks mikeaj and eugenius for the direct and to the point answers. I just thought it would be a waste of time and money buying balanced interconnects and headphone cables if the source wasn't balanced. Thanks to everyone who has helped me understand a little bit more theory. Having said that...

I think you're ALL missing the point. I was asking about ONE amp that can run balanced and SE. I am not comparing two separate amps. I don't care about speakers. I don't care what bridge you're building or where it goes. Let me clarify, it's one HEADPHONE amp that has balanced and SE inputs...

Thankyou Superjawes. That's all I needed to know. I also didn't know the amp can convert the signal to balanced. I just wanted to know if it was detrimental or not.    I got distracted by two people seeing which can piss the furthest without really answering my question.

Do you mean specifically in this set up method or balanced in general regardless of setup?   Because there's no big cost in running it this way with the example I gave. The only thing that would change from going balanced and non balanced would be an adapter. Am I right in this regard?

Just curious to know is there a point in running a balanced output from a balanced amp when the input is single ended?   For example, running LCD2 cans though a balanced connection from an ALO Rx Mk III amp which is conencted to a non balanced AK120 source.    What would be the differences...
