    Aikido Noval output caps recommendations

Here they are, my new babies.   I should now better then to start listening immediately. First notes sounded like ****. After an hour or so they opened up nicely. Very good detailling though nothing harsh, airy, good extension, neutral and laid back. Huge step forward overall.    My cap...

    Aikido Noval output caps recommendations

The Daytons seem to be hard to get in europe. I don't feel much for paying more in shipping costs then the actual cap price. So I ordered a pair of ClarityCap ESA 250V 68uF. No bypassing necessary. Let's see what the results are. On paper they seem to my taste. Good bass, warm sounding, not the...

    Apogee Mini-Dac WOW!

Indeed, if forgot about that. The reason i let i go in the end was the driver support.    I think you will be very pleased. Apogee makes great equipment.

    Apogee Mini-Dac WOW!

Of course the device is quite enjoyable as a whole though you can always do better with a decent heaphone amp.    I can't comment on the gustard but i tried using a m2tech hiface evo and found the firewire interface the better option.

    Apogee Mini-Dac WOW!

What do you mean by 'valid'? I had a mini-dac some years ago and remember it to be a great performer.   You need to have the firewire board. It takes the minidac to a whole new level.

    Aikido Noval output caps recommendations

So, I put together an Aikido Noval HPA. Very pleased with the overall result so far.    At the moment i'm tuning the ouput caps. My HD700 (150 ohms) needs a lot of capacitance for a low cutoff. It should really be at least 60uF.    The Daytons (30uF) provided with the kit don't sound too...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I think there was a typo yesterday. It said 300 euros. I was like... oh no. My 500 wasn't a bargain after all. I'm glad you made a mistake .   Anyway, there isn't a magic burn in ritual IMHO. Just play a lot of music through it, any music. If you like schlager... be my guest.

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I fully agree with the above.   For me the HD700 at 500 euros was a real bargain. During the burn in (it had about 50 hours now) I didn't really want to make a final judgement but it has really settled nicely.   Im pairing it with a hotrodded Musical Fidelity X-Can V3 and a DIY DDDAC1794...

    Sennheiser HD 700 Impressions Thread

I agree, the stock cable sucks. Funny they mention in the product sheet you should let it hang to get it straight. Well I hung it from the peg for 2 days and it´s still as bendy as before. Maybe i´ll try to iron it.

    Maestral´s Had-AudioLab from Croatia Europe

Looks awsome. But would the Maestral III wouldn't have been a better pairing for the Hifiman's? It has a rather low impedance (38 Ohm). The extra output transformers makes it somewhat more expensive though.   Anyway, I'm thinking about getting this one for my HD700's. What did you pay for it...

    Maestral´s Had-AudioLab from Croatia Europe

Make sure to post some internal pics when you do. I would very much like to know what's inside.    The pricing is very good espescially when you're in the EU. Hope they haven't been saving on the components too much.   Great way to stimulate our slacking ecomomy

    KOSS ESP-950 Thread

Yesterday it was $750. Only US and Canada though. I hate where I live    I'm guessing this could be against forum rules, but is some good soul prepared to buy one on my behalf?

Lynx Hilo - new offering from Pro Audio company.

I stared myself silly at the pictures here (http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LTUSB/). There seems to be only 2 lines leading to the USB connector. Then again, is probably a multilayer board. So this isn't really usefull information.
