Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

I agree, and I do that myself too nowadays. But not sure if I would be spending more on audio, the law of diminishing returns is becoming more and more prominent. While some people may not understand the info presented, many would benefit from it. Some components of measurement aren't that hard...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

Of course I can tell the difference between a dedicated amp and a smartphone. Just because I have a “New Headfier” in my profile doesn’t mean I know nothing. All this "could be this, could be thats", again, do not justify your point. If an amplifier measures well, like the atom does, then the...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

Good for you. To me, there is no difference. I can listen to the Sundara with a DX3 pro on high gain without any hint of strain from the amp. Tried it with the Aune X7s and didn’t think there was any real difference. But what I say doesn’t really matter to you. You can of course drop a few...

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

JDS atom is definitely powerful enough for the Sundara, which are not particularly power demanding headphones.

Maybe we have different head shapes. 650 definitely fits better, at least on my head.

Bought them for $300 from Audio46.

Hifiman Sundara (HE400i upgraded, around $500)

Took the plunge and bought an opened box pair of these. Have the 6xx on hand and hopefully these will complement them nicely. I plan to power them with a Topping Dx3 since it is an inexpensive dac/amp combo with a good-measuring dac section. Should have more than enough power to drive them.

    Fostex T60RP

Haha I can’t get them both. Even if I had the money I’d rather get a pair of elex or something like that. Thanks for the input :)

    Fostex T60RP

Hey thanks for the input. I think I’d get the he560 based on what you described. Hd6xx is too laid back and imo, boring. Any other options that you recommend in this price range? Something that has more of a wow factor over the 6xx.

    Fostex T60RP

Hi, I have been reading good stuff about the t60rp. I'd been wanting to try out a set of planars myself and I'm stuck here. I'm deciding between this (t60rp) and the hifiman he560, since I can get them at pretty much the same price. I also heard the argons are good but the waiting time is crazy...

    Argon Mk3 and Massdrop CTH/LCX?

Hi, I encountered a few options from ZMF and they seem pretty appealing to me. Namely the Blackwood and Ori. How good is the argon compared to these from zmf? particularly the blackwood...

    Topping A30 Headphone Amplifier

Hey thanks for replying and doing a bit of research into this. Audio-science’s test seems to contradict with what the guy has to say. It seems like the A30 is not as incompetent as he made it out to be. The only real downside I can see is the high output impedance. Running the a30 with...

    Topping A30 Headphone Amplifier

Thanks for the reply. Both the THX and the liquid carbon are too pricey for me as of now. Looking into the A30, Atom, and the o2.

    Topping A30 Headphone Amplifier

Thanks for the input. Well, what other amps do you recommend? Preferably around this price range. Heard pretty good stuff about the emotiva basX a100, Massdrop THX AAA, JDS Atom, and the CTH (heard it pairs well with the 6xx). Problem is that it’d be more of a hassle to have them shipped to...

    Topping A30 Headphone Amplifier

Hi, I can get the topping stack fairly easy in my region and I heard that you used to have a Schiit Fulla prior to this setup. I’d like to ask if it’s worth upgrading from the Fulla to this? Is the difference significant? I still think the Fulla does not power the hd6xx properly. If it’s not a...
