Actually, I typically connect directly to my iPhone 6 or Fiio X3 (gen 2). I'm fine with no amp--it's plenty loud, and I can use the eq on the Fiio to bring out more bass (which is what I did until things suddenly seemed settled--now, even my iPhone is fine).

After having burned these in (and having stretched them a bit), I'm amazed at how the bass suddenly just --appeared! I was really disappointed and a bit worried by how tight they were, and I totally got the uncomfortably present treble and recessed bass, but now--WOW. They're awesome! One of...

The Anker braided cable is fabric-covered where the stock cable is plasticky. I got it in red (I have the brown/red MSR7s).

Okay, just had an odd experience with the MSR7s.   I'm one of those who is having difficulty with the clamping force of the MSR7 (I've tried stretching them over a box, using cotton in the pads, bending the headband as per Tyll's video). I just accidentally put them on backwards, and they feel...

Thanks. The brightness does worry me a bit, if only because my ears run a bit sensitive, but I figure I can fiddle with my X3 a bit. I've read that Brainwavz pads might actually make this issue worse, so I guess that's a no-go, even for the pleathers....

Good news--I heard back from V-MODA, and they will honor the warranty. I just have to hang onto my receipt. :)   I took the headphones over to my parents' house tonight and had them listen. They were both amazed. :D

I'd read somewhere that those include only one cable--any idea whether the branding is the only difference? I don't care about the case, but I do wish the branding weren't on the headphones themselves--I've never seen the show! LOL
