Amplifier in the (Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD 24-bit 96KHz USB Interface Sound Card)
Think we need to request Creative to include native support for the 44.1 and 88.2 in Vista/7 in a driver update. I'll send them a request but it's more likely to happen if other people do it to.- Azsen

Yeah I couldn't get the ASIO to work under Vista. And either Vista's new audio system is stuffed or there are no decent drivers for my laptop under Vista but it audio was skipping badly in Vista. No problems in XP though.- Azsen

I got ASIO working on Windows XP Pro and Foobar with the Digital Music Premium HD. You need the ASIO plugin for Foobar and ASIO4ALL as well. It can play 44100Hz, 48000Hz, 96000Hz no problems. If you can link me to a sample of 88200Hz I can test it out for you.- Azsen

Ok so why would Creative only support 48 or 96 in the Music HD? Why not 44.1?- Azsen

Amplifier in the (Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD 24-bit 96KHz USB Interface Sound Card)
Quote: Is it possible it only plays at the song's sampling rate up to the maximum specified in that control? I.e. if playing a CD rip it samples at 44.1kHz when the maximum in the control is set at 48kHz. But if playing a 96kHz song it samples down to 48kHz as per the control? It wouldn't...- Azsen

Quote: That's what's shown in the advanced properties of my USB Sound Blaster Digital Music Premium HD, I believe it's the same hardware. Do you have some professional recording equipment/audio gear that needs 88,200 Hz sampling rate specifically?- Azsen

Two New Soundcards From Creative : Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD and X-Fi HD
My SoundBlaster USB Digital Music Premium HD arrived from Singapore today. :) My HD 595 plugs straight into the front using the gold 6.3mm (1/4") connector. Drivers and software pretty simple and nice. Any software I can run it through to put it through the paces/test it out? Where can I...- Azsen

USB soundcard for laptop that includes amp to drive HD595
I'm on Vista at the moment, but eventually I will upgrade to a new laptop with Windows 7. I see what you're saying about the sound in recent games getting done in software, but with the Music HD won't I be missing out on EAX Advanced HD stuff?- Azsen

USB soundcard for laptop that includes amp to drive HD595
Ok so if I don't need amp then I'm just looking at a USB sound card then, which can do decent music and still take some load off the CPU for games? Only Creative stuff? Or can other brands do just as well?- Azsen

USB soundcard for laptop that includes amp to drive HD595
G'day all, My Sennheiser HD595s have arrived today and they sound a lot nicer than my old HD515s however the 515s seem to have more bass. I haven't burned the 595s in yet but I was reading on here that might improve the bass after a solid burn-in... I'm using them on my laptop unamped...- Azsen

Need to upgrade Sennheiser HD515s with a better headphone
In the end I've gone with the HD595, partly because I couldn't find the others mentioned to buy (or listen to) and/or they were out of my price range anyway. In the case of the Grado SR80i which was the same price, I haven't heard a Grado before so don't know what they sound like. Have heard...- Azsen

Need to upgrade Sennheiser HD515s with a better headphone
Ok great thanks Digital. I went into town today to look for some to listen to some but there's only a couple of audio places in my small town and they didn't have much in the way of headphones. Think I found some AKG 601s but that's about it, they fit really nicely because they fit right over...- Azsen

Need to upgrade Sennheiser HD515s with a better headphone
Hi all, I've currently got a pair of Sennheiser HD515s in which the foam in the earpads and headband have completely disintegrated. The headphones still work but I don't think you can replace the pads so it looks like I'll be buying a new pair. They've had about 5 years of daily use so I...- Azsen

I have the IE6s and I don't hear the bass unless the tips are right in my ear properly. Push them in a bit more.- Azsen
