CIEM connector issues - recommendations?
I've had my customs for a few years, they're reshelled 1964-T (triples) with standard 2 pin connectors. The connectors have become loose over the years, and my cable barely stays connected and frequently cuts out. Any recommendations on how to fix this? Do I need to pay for a full reshell to...- audio technica

DT990 Bad Driver?
Hey everybody, I've got a pair of DT990s that have had no sound on the right side for a few months now. I've just gotten around to taking them apart to diagnose/recable them and to my surprise the cabling seems good. I put my scope on the right driver and it's getting a signal, but no...- audio technica

Schiit Modi Volume in Linux? - Software Implementation
Hey, I'm trying to get some amount of volume control for my Schiit Modi under Linux, since my CIEMs are still way too loud on the lowest possible setting of my Magni. Now from my understanding, the Modi does not natively support volume control, but it is possible for there to be software...- audio technica

Has anyone gotten the Schiit Modi to work with linux?
Hey, I don't know if you got this working but it was fairly straightforward for me. To see if your system can detect the Modi, do this: embedded-tech ~ # aplay -l **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices **** card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC889 Analog [ALC889 Analog] Subdevices...- audio technica

Hifiman is looking for the Amp designer
I've got some questions about this before participating... 1. What qualifies as an entry? 2. What DOESN'T qualify as an entry? 3. What do we need to participate? 4. What are the design requirements?- audio technica

Review: 1964 Ears V3 triple driver custom IEM (updated 10/24/12)
This just made me a lot more comfortable with my decision to go with the half-priced 1964-T compared to the V3. Great review.- audio technica

Custom IEMs - need help deciding
So I have come to a point where I have an option to purchase AND reshell both the Kozee Infinity X1 Executive and the 1964-T for a grand total of $500. However, upon opening up my calculator I found that buying new of both items (with a 2nd gen 1964-v3 to boot) would put me at a total of around...- audio technica

should I get the dt990s?
Okay, so I'm now at the decision point. I'm leaning more towards getting the 32 ohm version of the DT990 -- would I be sacrificing anything by doing so (compared to higher impedance versions)? With the 32 ohm version, would I be OK with getting something like the FiiO E5/6?- audio technica

should I get the dt990s?
It'll have to be for home use. I can just use my panasonics on-the-go. Tomorrow I might end up shopping around for tubes -- can I just use any tube for an amp? What specs should I be looking for?- audio technica

Headphone Sightings 2
Yeah, actually one of my friends had the VMODA LPs -- the ones with the chrome finish. I got a chance to compare them side-by-side to my Panasonic RP-HTF600s and they sound a bit more closed, possibly more bassy. As for headphone sightings, I've just seen a ton of people with beats...- audio technica

should I get the dt990s?
So how do the 32, 250, and 600 ohm variants compare? What does the higher impedance do for the quality/accuracy of the speakers? For now I'm going to wait until I visit an electronics warehouse to see what kind of tubes they have. Is there a list somewhere of tubes I should be looking...- audio technica

should I get the dt990s?
This might be a silly idea, but I've got a Fender guitar amp (the Fender Super Champ) and it uses a couple tubes in its circuitry -- would I be able to just use that with 600 ohm headphones?- audio technica

should I get the dt990s?
I'm leaning more towards building my own amp.... I've definitely got the skills and materials required (as long as that place still has some good tubes cheap). If I get anywhere with it I'll post something in the DIY section. Thanks for the tips and the warnings -- I had no idea that 600...- audio technica

should I get the dt990s?
I can literally get a ton of tubes (good ones by the looks of it) for $5 each. So, DIY amps are definitely a legitimate option here.- audio technica

should I get the dt990s?
Ok, so is there a low-cost amp that I could use with the 600 ohms? I'm actually planning on getting more high impedance cans later on so it might be a good investment to consider (if it's as essential as you say). What about building my own tube amp? There's a great electronics warehouse...- audio technica
