Cayin HA-6A Tube Headphone Amplifier (KT88 and EL34) with XLR4 and 4.4mm Impedanced Matched Output (US$2,399)

Does the Cayin HA-6A have faster transient response with less softening of the sound than the HA-300?

HEDD Announces HEDDphone With AMT Technology

OT It is not like it is only with Chord’s DACs that we actually will double amplify if we use the DAC together with a dedicated amplifier. The analogue section of all DACs are amplifying the converted signal, no matter if it is used with a dedicated amp or not. The difference between using a...

The EtherREGEN made a very positive and notable difference in my audio system. I believe in testing myself before making general statements and UpTone have a 30-day money-back satisfaction guaranteed, so you can test it at home and if you don’t like it you can send it back for full refund.

    Audio-GD DI-20

Looks like that so far the DI-20 is only used together with other AGD DACs. Is there anyone that owns a DAC from another company that can test the ACSS SPDIF with the DI-20 or DI-20HE?

    Hifiman HE1000-SE

I had the V2 before I upgraded to the SE and to me the improvement is done without making the headphone sounding more clinical or more analytical than the V2. If anything I would say that the SE is more engaging and less clinical sounding than the V2. I believe that if someone really like the...

    Audio-GD DI-20

One of the reason why the power cord matters on a regenerative power supply is because the flow of electricity is circulating, and the power that didn’t get used by the power supply is sent back to the mains. It is called Backfeeding and can be “dirty”.

    Hifiman HE6-SE

Getting a good matching amp for the HE6/HE6se is not about the ability to play at ear splitting level, most amp can do that and more. I don’t know how to explain it other than it is about playing with both authority, fineness and realism at the same time with a power demanding headphone. A...

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread

Value is like beauty very subjective. It is up to everyone to decide for themselves if cables or headphones or whatever is worth getting or not. The cost of all TOTL headphones are indeed very high and only a limited amount of people are actually prepared to spend that kind of money, still...

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread

I don’t find it unreasonable, neither in theory nor in practice, to conclude that "too many" ferrites can and should have a negative effect on the sound. My understanding is that too many ferrites can change the impedance of cable so it won’t be 75 Ohms anymore, which is known to be important...

Hugo M Scaler by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread

It’s very easy, the people that are content with using the stock cables, PSU and to connect a PC directly to the M-Scaler do that. People that have experienced that that ferrites, cables and upstream gear can make the sounds better can do that, it's their money.
