I've heard good things about the Burson Soloist 3xp as a preamp, although I haven't tried this combination myself.

Quickly chiming in to say that there shouldn't be much difference between the Ambre and the Hermes you originally pointed out. I'd do whichever you get the best discount on 😀

The 5691 RCA red base 6SL7GT made me instantly stop buying more input tubes for my Bigger Ben. It just added so much weight to every note and still added detail. For $90, it was the best tube value I've ever bought.

EDM is quickly becoming one of my favorite genres on the Rognir. Open/Closed aside, I think you will love the Rognir for EDM.

100% agree about the need for a bend. They are actually my cans that I sent to demo, which is why he's not bending them for his head :) I picked them up used, and I am hard pressed to find a fault at the used price. Fantastic value.
