given this statement - why not look around the $2-300 mark at some universally praised headphones like sennheiser650/drop6xx, meze 99, hifiman sundara. another alternative are the $60-ish SuperLux etc "clone-phones"- andred

Musical Paradise Mp-301 tube rolling thread
bringing this thread back up. recently pulled out my MP-301. had not liked it compared to XDuoo 20 and 30 last time i compared. swapped some obscure russian tubes out, and some more classic tubes in. the 301 sounds amazing! and not just "for the price." switched in Gold Lion KT-88s and...- andred

New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)
after further listening - the T1s are punchy and alive, but sorta "small" (maybe just their closed back nature?). by themselves, the T1s sound great. in A/Bs with other (more expensive) 'phones, their lack of wide space becomes a negative by comparision. my impressions - YRMV, of course...- andred

When do you go from 'enthusiast' or collector to 'hoarder'
well yeah BUT. but in chasing the "joy has no limit" we can end up with oollections that are too big. cumbersome. expensive. wasteful. and hard to enjoy due to the clutter and over-choice. chasing happiness out too far can end up making us less happy. PS great thread!- andred
