For sale is a handmade Mjolnir headphone amplifier owned by legendary mastering engineer Bob Katz. It is in excellent condition and was kept in a climate-controlled studio. (Bob has too many headphone amps)

Built in Iceland, this amp is of class-A design based on the Dynalo circuit with the input stage altered to super symmetry and using the THAT340 matched bipolar array as inputs. It’s run at higher voltage (+/-20V) and using the super stable Golden Reference power supply. It tracks based on a voltage reference so it is super stable. Parts swapped naturally with better modern transistors and all of them surface mounted to a common heatsink per phase to hold the drift. The circuit is indeed very tube like in its behavior and that’s how we like it. It’s better to have a bit of benign distortion over the sharp cutoff you get in so many circuits.

This amp sounds especially when paired with the Audeze LCD-4/5. Sink into your music with the clarity that this amp brings. Be sure to use a balanced 4-pin XLR

New Head-Fier
The amp was actually sold, through a listing I made on Audiogon! So I could not list it as sold here and I withdrew this entry. Sorry, it's not longer available!
