I hope Shanling continues the MG series. We need more of this semi-open back design with exotic dynamic drivers. Love the form factor and the lack of pressure build-up:heart:.

Based on your description, it sounds like the Duality is similar in tuning to the Scarlet Mini, with that super rumbly subbass tickling your ears, but leaving you craving some more midbass. I suspect you'll love the Metalure Wave 🌊 based on your preferences. If you search note weight and...

In the end, single DDs are all about the materials used. Everything from the type of magnet used, the voice coil, acoustic chambers, diaphragm material, dome material, shell material, nozzle material, etc. affect the final tuning and technical performance. I love when brands experiment with new...

What is the best single DD IEM available today?

I really like the EA1000, especially the way it makes string instruments sound, but I had to sell it due to how it fitted me. Not too sure if the EA500 is as good.

What is the best single DD IEM available today?

They'll actually release the FD17 by October, if it's not delayed. Source: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DcLyt6hdK/.

What is the best single DD IEM available today?

I've tried many Dita IEMs including the Perpetua, the Project 71 Sakura, Project M, Dita x Earside EX (a China exclusive), and, honestly, I'm not a big fan of their house sound. I even tried a sample of the Mecha before it was announced at the Hong Kong AV show, and I felt bad telling SuperChonk...

What is the best single DD IEM available today?

That's true, we can't let this thread die! Btw I tried the HS2000MKiii at e-earphone in Japan earlier this month, and I have to say you're right. This thing is the widest sounding IEM I've ever heard and it truly sounds like a hybrid. It's really awesome if you're after resolution. For bass...

Shanling UP6 - New Advanced Portable Bluetooth DAC/AMP at $199

I own the UP5 and sometimes it glitches and starts trying to charge instead of trying to connect as a USB DAC from my phone (not a USB cable problem). Would be good of this was fixed via updates and if this isn't a problem with the UP6. Not too sure if this could be solved by software updates...

Honestly, this might be the best description I've read of the DC Elite's sound signature. I mainly listen to Rap and Hip Hop, so the bass hits on the Nunchaku felt less textured and singers a bit more distant. Not my cup of tea, but can see how the Nunchaku can work for different genres.

I tried the Nunchaku yesterday, and, tbh, I think the DC Elite is way better sonically. However, in terms of usability, the Nunchaku is better. Have you tried both?

If anybody's after something similar, you can consider the Essence Ears Rise cable (23awg) but it's a bit brighter purple. It would be in between the Effect Audio Code 24 (16.5awg) and the PW Audio 15th anniversary cable (28awg) in thickness. Not 100% sure, but Essence Ears seems to be related...

Nice to see somebody else appreciate HUM amps! I own a HUM MA-1S and love that thing.

Managed to pick up a brand new FAudio Major today. Just a reminder that older IEMs are still pretty good!

CanJam Hong Kong 2025 Event and Impressions Thread (January 18-19, 2025)

I only tried each for about 10 mins, but from what I rember Essence Ears had two models: EVO and EVOLVE. I forgot what the EVO sounds like, so it must be pretty meh, not that special. However, the EVOLVE was clearly focused on vocals, and oh man did they sound beautiful. It made vocals the...
