I take my Benjie S5 on vacation with me. Great at the airport, on the flight and at the beach. Excellent battery life.
I think I'm going to order one as a replacement for my Sansa Clip+, which I love....but it's old and the battery drains pretty quickly now. The Benjie S5 looks like a good alternative...and for only $20???

Or should i get the Benjie X1?

I only have the S5 running AGPtek F/W. It is a great travel DAP for me. I just hit play a let it run.

I have a Clip+ that died due to other reasons, and the battery is fine. If you shoot me a PM, I'll send you my Clip+ battery for free (assuming you know how to desolder the old one and solder on the new one).

Thank you so much for the offer! But sadly, I'm no good with soldering. :frowning2:

You can get good at soldering very easily. Order a DIY electronics kit and you will get good with some practise.
Either that, or take it into a local electronics shop and ask them to do it. (It might cost more than Benjie Dap Though.)
Or I could do it But you probably don't live in Australia.
As for the Benjie X1 vs S5, The X1 has a lot better UI because of the tiny screen the S5 has. The Aesthetics are subjective.
As for the sound, people have said that the K9 sounds marginally worse than the S5, and that the K9 sounds the same as the X1, so according to what I have read the S5 wins in sound a little bit.
Or you could try the Benjie M28/X3 which is like a K9 with volume buttons, and is the only one out of all these with physical buttons. I'll be getting an X1 and M28 in the mail soon, so I can compare them, then sell the one I like least to my friend who is after a Dap. :gs1000smile:

Thank you! I hadn't heard of that model before. It's definitely a contender now, especially with those physical volume buttons on the side. That's a big plus to me.

Any more news on the Ruizu A50? Are you getting it Crabdog?
Yes, I should have one in a week or so. Still don't know much about it but I do know that it doesn't support DSD256. That doesn't bother me as I don't have any music in that format except for a couple of test tracks. Price will not be over $60. Will post some early impressions here soon.
