Then I'd think the JVCs would sound better, particularly when modded for less bass. The regular iSine 10 and 20 are screwed up in the mids and need DSP (EQ) to sound good.

Yeah I lost my se846 so I purchased an isine 20 as a replacement... if purchased with standard cable, heavy eq modification is required to kill the mids.

Yes, the FW01 uses the Comply 400 series.

Excellent! Thanks! I ordered the FW01s, and they will take a while to get here (local agent says around Oct) so I have time to prepare. Rarely has an iem made me go "wow!" from first listen. Excited for these!

Congrats on your purchase! Sounds like you're going to be very happy as you should since the FW01 is a beautiful sounding IEM. Remember, it will need at least a couple hundred hours of run in before it sounds its best.

I really enjoy the FW01 too, especially on the Rupert Neve amp (RNHP). It tightens the low end like crazy, I love it.

Also have the XBA-Z5 and gladly keep both.

Anyone modded the fw01?? I demoed fw01 with front and back modded fx1100, fw01 sounds smoother on high and makes fx1100 sounds harsh.. i still prefer the bass from fx1100 but fw01 definitely tighter if compared with stock fx1100.
