    Just got my A700's

They came in the mail and man do they sound amazing. Blows my BOSE AE's out of the water. The bass is a lot less sloppy and slammy and has way more depth and solidarity to it. Mids sound fine to me and the treble sounds amazing. Wish I would have put down for a pair of these earlier.

Just bought an ath a700 and Pengiunamp

Thanks for the replies guys. Im going to stick with my x-fi for the time being until I get more money. Another question I have is, will my penguinamp be good enough? I know its a portable amp but I had to get a cheap amp. With it being portable can I use it as a desktop only amp?

I think im going without a DAC, ive got an x-fi extremegamer so that should be good enough. What can I expect from these new headphones over my now BOSE Triports AE?

Do I need a DAC with my AMP?

I just bought a penguinamp and a set of ath a700's and I have a creative x-fi extremegamer. Do I really need to buy a DAC or can I just run a cord from my sound card to my amp to my headphones? My x-fi has always had good sound with my triports, does an external DAC really outdo a soundcard?

    Confused on Amp/DAC combo

Im new to using amps and was wondering do I even need an amp/dac combo with an ath-a700 and xfi-fatality sound card? If I was to use an amp/dac combo does this go through my sound card or how does it work? I was looking at the penguinamp and a penguinamp dac cable.

    New Headphones

I finally went with the ATH-a700's. Seems a lot of gamers use them for their excellent SQ and comfort. Thanks for the help =)

    New Headphones

My Bose triports just broke and I was looking to get new headphones that are better in the $100-200 price range. I know people say the triports are horrible SQ but they are the most comfortable headphones Ive owned. I'm looking for a new set that I can wear all day without it being a...
