i feel your pain on the stock cable that is too long - i have the same issue.  wonder if they could have provided a modular extender option to negate that issue.   nevertheless, be careful, don't cheap out and end up downgrading cables....

Ended up finding a vendor in Nevada on eBay who sold me a pair for $270 new after negotiations. Just got em in the mail. My first exposure to the Sennheiser sound. Love em!

Yeah, as Zoom mentioned, I'd email Pro Audio LA and let them know what you're trying to do. They can recommend some configurations that best suit your needs. They helped me and were straight shooters even when I tried get them to upsell me nicer cables that would have been overkill.

Kinda off topic but what sub $500 headphones do you all enjoy with your Source? My Grado MS2i sound a tad thin. I'm looking for a smidge more bass. Moreover, I'm happy to see the DM community growing at head-fi.

After the delays for the PureDAC, I ended us getting a Dangerous Music Source. I love it and it was "only" $900.
