Really good to hear this, as I am considering ordering the FA1. Another good point about them over the PFE 112 is that I hope to be able to drive them from my phone without an amp which will make them a lot more useful on trips.

Appears the actual issue is that the Left side is really quiet. If I change the balance to -0.63 (81.5/18.5 (L/R)) it balances it. There is no distortion and nothing changes moving the cables around. I have not yet found the old filters to swap out but will be looking today when home from work...

The PFE was like $130 10 years ago. I figure if I send it in for repair I am looking at least 50-70$ to get it fixed when all is said and done so might as well look at $100 IEM options. I honestly do not use them that much anymore (I use my DT 990s at home), just when I am traveling I use them...

Wanted to know if there was an easy way to tell which one is R or L if you get the gray ones. Does it say R or L on them somewhere or do you need to look at the shape of them? Just trying to decide when on the go how hard it will be to connect the correct cable to the correct IEM.

No idea, all I know is that I do not get sound out of one side, there is no physical damage to the cable visible anywhere.
