Question about revised Audio Technica M50x vs older original M50
In my experience there are actually 3 "generations" of the M50. M50 (approx. 2007 to approx. 2010): Bassy and V-shaped. Very good. M50 (approx. 2010 and forwards): Less bassy and V-shaped. Also very good M50X: Even less bass and very different sound signature. I don't like it. IMO: try to to...- HalloweenJack

Violectric DHA V590 DAC/AMP - Blue Velvet
BTW, The Niimbus US4 has +/- 30 V like the older Violectrics. Quote from the manual: "Two toroidal transformers each with 25 Watt are providing the internal operating voltages of +/-30 V."- HalloweenJack

Violectric DHA V590 DAC/AMP - Blue Velvet
OK, the manual confirms it has + / - 25 V internal operating voltage, so less than original series Violectrics that have + / - 30 V.- HalloweenJack

Violectric DHA V590 DAC/AMP - Blue Velvet
Side-note: After checking the manuals of different Violectric manuals, it seems that my HPA V90-model (discontinued) gives the most voltage to 600 ohm cans (unbalanced)in the Violectric series: 600 ohm load: V90: dBU 28,6 / V 20,9 / 730 mW V200: dBU 27,6 / V18,5 / 570 mW DHA V590 lists 21...- HalloweenJack

Violectric DHA V590 DAC/AMP - Blue Velvet
On CMAs official site for this amp ( https://www.cma.audio/en/detail/index/sArticle/2057 ) it says: "High Output Voltage - through 50 V internal operating voltage." Does this mean +/- 50 V or +/- 25 V ? The previous Violectric series has +/- 30 V (60 V).- HalloweenJack

Powerful tube amp
Can you name some powerful all-tube amps that can rival Violectric-amps in output/voltage swing? Also: what is the most powerful all-tube amp for headphones available, if price isn't an issue?- HalloweenJack

ATH-M50 bs M50x...there IS a difference
After reading about the silent revision of the M50 I bought a New Old Stock original ATH-M50 in the blue/white box with flip-cover, and I can confirm that there are 3 different versions of M50/M50x: v1: 2007-2011/12 (?): blue/white box with flip-cover: Significantly more bass than v2, otherwise...- HalloweenJack

Couldn't find a thread about these. Seems like a gimmick to me, but maybe useful for some people, if they sound good. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inspero/vinci-first-smart-3d-headphones-that-understand-yo- HalloweenJack

Warm-sounding, cheap studio monitors
Can you recommend some warm-sounding, cheap studio monitor speakers? Not too large, $200-$400 per speaker? To be used for music listening, not mixing/mastering. I prefer a somewhat V-shaped sound signature- HalloweenJack

Good medium-sized PC-speakers with on/off/volume-knob on the front
Hi Can you guys recommend some good medium sized speakers with on/off/volume-knob on the front? Currently I have a pair of Creative Inspire T10. Headphones similar to Audio Technica ATH-M50 - upgrade
I've read that the M70 is very much _not_ like the M50s (too analytical etc.), but I am of course curious about them. The TH600 are too pricey for me. Can you recommend 2 closed and 2 open headphones that have a V-shaped signature like the M50s in the price range $200-400?- HalloweenJack

Headphones similar to Audio Technica ATH-M50 - upgrade
I really love the sound of the M50s, but are there other headphones that sound similar, BUT BETTER!? :-) Also more comfortable? I also really like the Sennheiser HD-25s. These are my two favourite headphones by far.- HalloweenJack

Looking for comfortable closed back headphone upgrade from Audio Technica ATH-M50s
I really love the ATH-M50s soundwise, but I'm also looking for an upgrade that sounds like them/better, but are more comfortable. Do the Meze 99s really _sound_ like the M50s? Can they handle loud sound pressures? Any others to recommend? (For reference, I also love my HD25s, and use a...- HalloweenJack

Why is the Sennheiser HD25-cable on the right (not left) side?
Does anyone know this? Almost all (all?) other cans I've seen with a single-sided cable has it on the _left_ side. (I've personally changed this manually on my HD25)- HalloweenJack
