The Sony X-1000 series has wi-fi and touch screen. The Youtube application works OK but its worthless for web browsing. On the other hand, its great as a music player.

Yay, another thread on the relative value of the R10. I doubt that Sony will be making any price no object electronics any time soon. Especially after they failed miserably with the Qualia brand.

If an IEM appeals to you I believe the JH13 is worth consideration for both sound and isolation. It is guaranteed to isolate you from your wife while listening.

I have directly compared a Sony X and iPod 5.5g with the JH13 but not with an amp. The JH13 sounds very good with the Sony player though I wish there was less background noise. The hiss is about the same with both players. The right amp on the iPod could improve this.

I was never completely comfortable using universal IEMs. The comply foam tips are among the most comfortable. But if you can afford it, I recommend getting custom molds. They are far and away more comfortable and make using IEMs a pleasure. As far as I know, you can get custom earmolds for Shure...

I was ready to write these earphones off until I tried the large tips. It's amazing how much the sound changes once a good seal is obtained. The earphones kept slipping out so I tried the comply foam tips and now I have comfort and good sound.

I bought the new Porta Pro at Best Buy this evening. I really like the new cloth covered cable. It has a much nicer feel to it than the classic rubber. The smaller jack casing seems like it will be less prone to breaking than the older version; the new jack is better suited for portable use.
