Anyone else find it it a little conical that people think apple somehow have managed to make a postage sized dock connection complete with Dac? And for $30? Look at where the HP out is. That tells you all you need to know- superpiper

Hey the Owner(s) of iPod 5G/5.5G and EX1000
Well, I don't have the ear-phones, but only last week i pulled my retired Ipod 5.5g out of the draw and updated the rockbox to the latest version. Listening with my IE7's (no amp) i am really appreciating again just how good a little DAP it is. Its a nice change from my Current...- superpiper

Which is the best mobile phone in the market today in terms of audio quality out of the box?
Quote: For the XE, I chose Android over IOS because i wanted a proper sized screen and more than just a phone. I chose the XE over the SGII because the XE sounded (on test) much better than the SGII- superpiper

Which is the best mobile phone in the market today in terms of audio quality out of the box?
The Iphones sound a tad wooden and flat to me. My sensation XE sounds better than any Iphone i have used, but both iphones and my sensation sound better than any IPOD i used either. (I dug out my old 5.5g the other day to have another comparison with the XE and its (IPOD) gone back in its...- superpiper

HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio, speculation, thoughts?
Timely Bump. I'm now rocking ICS on the XE. HTC seem to have re-jigged the Beats software and i have to say, it sounds rather good and a big improvement over the previous itteration. So much so that i am not looking for the Poweramp app anymore. Not sure if its "Audiophile" buts it is...- superpiper

HTC Sensation XE Review
The Beats DSP is bass heavy. Yuk. The std output of the stock player is crippled to up the beats brand and is yuk. Download a good 3rd party player like playerpro with dsp and plug in your IE7's (yes, I actually bought them on the strength of your review on same) and the XE Pisses all over any...- superpiper

The XE doesn't have "permanent eq" applied. The bundled music player does. With Poweramp&dsp, the XE is outstanding- superpiper

Android phone with best sound quality and volume for use with ATH-m50's?
Quote: Dunno tbh, I find this recent Head-fi obsession with DAC chip origins a little bemusing to be honest, surely as with all audio electronic, we have learnt that the sum is greater than the parts and that all that matters is what you get at the end of the pipe. You can...- superpiper

Android phone with best sound quality and volume for use with ATH-m50's?
Quote: I think HTC in playing to the marketering debt of the beat brand have (by the eq settings on the player) hobbled the device tbh. I suspect there are some failry upset engineers at HTC. But that said, out of the box, the Samsungs sound bloody awful and only with a kernel...- superpiper

Android phone with best sound quality and volume for use with ATH-m50's?
Quote: Completely disagree here. The monster Beats are currently the best earphones supplied with a phone by a country mile. Oh, you can obviously get much better earphones if you spend the money, but that will always be the case. The Sensation XE is a superbly...- superpiper

What is the right thing to do to get the best out of my HTC Sensation XE?
The correct answer is to download PlayerPro+DSP from the Android market and ditch the built in player. I've posted lots about how good i think the XE is as a music player, so read through my post history. (I have tried all the players in the Android market and Player pro's...- superpiper

Best Highend Android Smartphone audiowise (with TF10s)
There is a trial period for most stuff on android (5 days for the player apps i think) so try them out before you buy. I tried them all and thought the "playerpro/dsp app was significantly better than poweramp and neutron. Anyways, 5 dollars is **** all really. Which chip? Does that matter...- superpiper

Best Highend Android Smartphone audiowise (with TF10s)
Quote: Ditch the Included player. The Beats stuff is shocking bad which is a shame because i find the hardware top notch ( i use my IE7's to listen with btw) Download Playerpro and the DSP module (ensure you turn it on in the settings) and enjoy. The DSP will also let...- superpiper

Any Good Android Phone as Source?
Never had any Death grip Issues. Also, like old fashioned amps, the technical specs on an output don't really tell the story you get at your ears. The Sound from the XE with Player Pro is IMHO outstanding tbh. Far better than the 3gs and I4 i have judged against. ( I own both) YMMV...- superpiper

Hello, I have the Sensation XE (same thing i think) anyway, some opinions on your question: *The quality of the Headphones is going to be the key factor here, Bettering the headphones will give you the biggest return on SQ *I've no idea about decent buds (are PK's still around) but my...- superpiper

Had some more quality time listening to the XE. I changed the music app to "playerpro" and locked in the dsp module. I'm blown away tbf. Outstanding imho with the dsp onboard. I'd love someone else with better ears to give an opinion, especially with playerpro/dsp running. I've read that the...- superpiper
