So it comes down to six phones
I owned the A900s for a while and the detail was there and it wasn't fatiguing, but it lacked punch and the mids were a little recessed. The bass was good, but compared to the Grados, a little boomy.- BrookR1

So it comes down to six phones
That's why I took back my post. I also read he preferred the 75s to the other Senns he listened to. It almost sounds like he wants to have it both ways...crisp detail without fatigue. It can be a double-edged sword.- BrookR1

Earn Money In My Spare Time???
I have a few expenses coming up and was thinking about taking on a temporary part time job. I've seen the ads for mystery shoppers, typists, pet food slingers and selling pen*s enhancers, etc. I was wondering if anyone actually tried these odd jobs and what were the results? Would I be better...- BrookR1

Grado SR 60's worth it
The SR-80s are a little bit more money but will get you closer to the Grado sound than the SR-60s. The bowl pads provide more detail and a bit more soundstage and well worth the extra $$$.- BrookR1

A lot of people use a mild detergent like Woolite, but a very small amount of dishwashing liquid should work. You don't want your headphones April fresh or anything like that.- BrookR1

The Official Grado 325i Owners Club.
Congrats on your purchase. This may sound like blasphemy, but I'm beginning to wonder if these are actually better than my RS-1s. Definitely on the same level. Regarding an amp, are you running these through your computer or another setup? If a computer, I highly recommend the E-MU 0404 USB...- BrookR1

Deciding between the Denon D1001 and Grado SR60
Quote: Seems it's a 50/50 so far....is there a store in LA where I could try both headphones? DXC Store has a wall of headphones to try out. They are in Culver City. DXC STORE That would be the best way....try before you buy.- BrookR1

What rate do you rip your music at ?
256 AAC stored on my hard drive. Lossless stored in a box ready to be placed into a CD player when needed. I guess I've never quite understood why people rip lossless. Hard drive space, while getting cheaper, is still more expensive than a box in the closet.- BrookR1

Deciding between the Denon D1001 and Grado SR60
^^Wow...it sounds like she really dislikes the Grados.^^ What types of music will you be listening to? The SR-60s come with comfies and not bowl pads. Not too many complaints about the SR-60s regarding comfort, but the bowl pads receive mixed reviews.- BrookR1

$100 PC Speakers
If you can stretch your budget a little, the Logitech z-2300 sound very good for the price. Otherwise, the Logitech X-540 are also excellent for the price as well. -
Anyone else tends to hesistate to try new music?
I tend to stay within just a few genres, but bounce around between artists within them. -
Never Did Like the nano Fatty
I'm pretty torn. Right after the 3G nano came out, I didn't like its fat shape and purchased an 8GB 2G because it's easier to carry while exercising. I downloaded iTunes 8 this morning for my PC and played with Genius for a while and love it. Creating playlists manually sucks. Now that the 4G is...- BrookR1

Grado SR60's vs SR80's?
Congrats on your purchase. Even after going up and down the Grado line, I still come back to these. The balance between bass and highs is just right, not to mention they'll grab hold of your ears and take you on a wild ride.- BrookR1

AD700 or Grado SR80?
Yes...the SR-80 is much better for rock. I owned the A900s at one point. They were good for movies and trance, but not much else.- BrookR1

Beatles Tribute Band - The Fab Four
Wow...impressive. I went to their web site and saw a pic of them at the Hollywood Bowl. It looks like they're based out of Orange County, CA. A lot of those tribute bands do quite well and are able to quit their day jobs. One band, the Cured (Cure tribute band) was able to afford to purchase...- BrookR1

Went to the dxc Store in Culver City, Ca today...
I really like that store. Their staff is very friendly. They let me demo the GS-1000 without any pressure or hassles. I would always try to drop a little bit of money every time I went in even if it was only a CD. It's unfortunate they're no longer in Santa Monica. I would always take dates to...- BrookR1

Any suggestions?
The Alessandro MS-1 is a good headphone for your needs. They sound great with guitars and are more analytical than their Grado counterparts. They're open, so some sound may leak in/out.- BrookR1

Got the axe...It s*cks.
I've been through it twice...once with the dot com blow up and another time with the mortgage meltdown. What got me through the first time was a book called "What Color is Your Parachute?". Loads of good information. The local unemployment office also helped me tremendously...they gave me...- BrookR1

How many tracks/albums in your music library?
I'm pretty new too. Most of this I've collected in the last year: 5449, 15.7 days, 38.01 GB I subscribe to eMusic (100 tracks per month) and that's all I can handle. I only listen to music a couple of hours per day. It's really time consuming finding good music.
