Crosstalk/Crossfeed Questions
I think the moral may be that it is objective - there is science behind it that tries to solve a problem, but in the end it's also subjective, because it boils down to personal taste. Whether it be an issue with source, music, amplification, cans, or even psychology, it's hard to say. I've...- Xerophase

Crosstalk/Crossfeed Questions
I have a few questions about crosstalk and crossfeed and how these distortions/features affect the sound of an amp. First, my understanding of crosstalk is that it is a negative attribute of an amplifier that reduces the soundstage. Crossfeed, on the other hand, is a feature added to amps to...- Xerophase

Closed Phones - Looking for Extreme Isolation
I can't seem to find a search function since the forum upgrade, so unfortunately I haven't been able to research this very much before just firing off a question. I'm looking for something fairly specific, though, and wanted to gather some opinions. I'm looking for a huge amount of isolation...- Xerophase

Zwan Album: Good Music, Bad...
I just posted how I "fixed" some of the cd's production problems on the Zwan boards. Here's the link: http://zwan.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x?a=tpc...2&m=9896005242 You may not be able to get directly to it without an account. If not, search for the subject "How to "Fix" your Zwan CD" on the "Mary... -

Audio-Technica ATH-A900 Review
I finally received these (along with some Eggo D66's ;-) from audiocubes.com a few days ago. At first I wasn't going to prepare a review, simply because I'm not nearly as much of an enthusiast as some of the other members here, and therefore can't provide much of a comparison of these phones to...- Xerophase

Favorite Benchmark CDs
Just curious what everyone's favorite CD is to benchmark their headphones by. Surely everyone has one. I'm talking about that CD that you *can't wait* to test your new gear out on. Whether you choose it because you think it's production quality is perfect, it has crazy stereo effects, it's your... -

Sennheiser HD580 vs HD590 vs HD600's with Amp
Just as a follow-up, I've decided to go out on a limb and grab a pair of the ATH-W1000. I'm going with the W over the A model simply because I like the way they look. The sound difference is apparently nill. As far as an amp goes, I'm going to try to power these off my receiver for a bit, and...- Xerophase

Sennheiser HD580 vs HD590 vs HD600's with Amp
kelly: Interesting. Beefed up mid-bass is something I would generally avoid. I have an annoying sensitivity (intolerance?) to a lot of low-mid/mid-bass. It muds up the sound and starts to remind me of high school PA equipment. Not that it's that severe, but you see what I'm getting at. <sigh>...- Xerophase

Sennheiser HD580 vs HD590 vs HD600's with Amp
Hello everyone! This is my first post to the forum after lurking here a while yesterday to collect information for my next set of phones for my home setup.
