Teac Reference Line UD-501 USB DAC "DSD"
Hi guys just bought this wonderfull dac. I'm using a Mac mini as a source and audirvana plus as a player. I've noticed that in the midi audio set up, when i choose the Teac, i only see 24 or 32 bit options, no 16 bit rate option ... Is this normal? I also noticed that if i play an aiff file...- nikko2014

TEAC HA-501 Headphone Amp
So guys i have done some experiments with the damping/gain setting, but i have to say the differences were not so big as i expected... i find the sound in the "low setting" position to be warmer and a little bit softer, on the higher positions it's a little bit louder and crispy to me, but again...- nikko2014

TEAC HA-501 Headphone Amp
Hi Richard, thanks for your contribution. Like i said i've always used the gain setting in the "low" position, and the volume level set between 15 and 12 (only with some cd's like the shm platinum cd's that have a lower level of volume registration i had to push the volume at 7...) but...- nikko2014

TEAC HA-501 Headphone Amp
Thank you very much for your answer ESL-1. Yes i asked this because i also have the T1, and following the Teac instruction manual i always use the gain/damping setting in the low position since this should be the one for the 600 ohm headphones (or maybe i misunderstood the manual... ? ) but...- nikko2014

Sony PHA-3 balanced portable dac/amp
The problem is that i asked about the PHA-3 because on sony.it is the one that is being sold, no mention about the AC version... but in the mail they sent me the PHA-3 AC manual... so i believe what you are saying but i find it very frustrating and partially misleading by Sony... if it was not...- nikko2014

Sony PHA-3 balanced portable dac/amp
If that is true I completely agree with you.... but i mailed Sony in Italy and they answered that the PHA-3 has a battery.... really confused right now, do not know what to think.... in the instruction manual they sent me by mail there are no info about charging time... this make me think that...- nikko2014

TEAC HA-501 Headphone Amp
Thank you Patrik for your point of view. It makes perfect sense to me. I'm planning to hear some more headphones myself before buying the t1 since it's a quite expansive headphone, but for now it's the one that i prefer among all the ones (very few) that i've been able to listen. Thanks...- nikko2014

TEAC HA-501 Headphone Amp
Good morning Patrik, Thank you for your answer, i just wanted to be sure since this is my second headphone amplifier after the epiphany o2 that i used before and i'm not so expert in this regard. No i do not hear any noise turning off the amp so i assume it's pretty safe to leave the headphones...- nikko2014
