How's the durability for the owners out there? Any visible signs of wear on the leather anywhere?

How do you guys store these things? I find that to fit the case the best you have to extended the earpads all the way to get them to fold all the way. I hate losing the position of the earpads every time I use them.

Also is it ok to use those canned compressed air dusters? I imagine you shouldn't blow directly into the drivers but a light puff here and there should be ok?

Well pulled the trigger on a pair of P7s yesterday and sure glad I did. Only have my L1s to compare to but the clarity, bass, pretty much everything is drastically better.

Hmm I had my heart set on the P7s but the X1s are almost half the price. I could get an amp and the X1 for the price of the P7s.

Are you using an amp with your X1?

Ok super newbie question but would there be any substantial benefit from getting a cheap desktop amp (I.e. Fiio E10) for use with a iMac and a pair of open headphones?

Could you recommend an open hp/amp combo for around $400?

Hmm seems like the HE400 needs to be modded a little before enjoying to the fullest. I see people replacing the ear cups and cable. Also is planar magnetic technology pretty mature and reliable? I'm not familiar with it.

What are the amplification needs for the HE400. Couple reviews have differing opinions on that. For now I don't have an amp and just running straight out of iMac and iPhone.

I listen to a strange mix of alternative, soundtrack, and classical. Occasional EDM. Right now I have the L1s. They were my intro into nice headphones now I'm hooked.

Does anyone own both the L1 and X1? Does the X1 sound significantly better?

How's the comfort level between these two headphones? I've tried the P7s at the Apple store a few times but they never have any Momentums out to try. I found the P7's ear cups a little stiff compared to my Philips L1s. Do they soften over time?

I'm thinking of getting a pair of these soon. I know the build quality is fantastic but wanted to know if there have been any surprises in terms of manufacturing defects or durability issues. Thanks!

How would you guys compare these to the B&W P7's. I know they're different classes of headphones but I am looking for headphones to use exclusively at home in quiet environments. Sound leakage is not an issue. Love the P7s but $150 for X1s is just so tempting.
