I have both of these and I actually kind of prefer the DT880 for most music - especially electronic stuff. It may sound weird, but they seem to have more bass to me, too.

The Denon D600 sound pretty good to me. I like the idea of low leakage.

One of the things I'm trying to avoid is buying an amp. I would definitely prefer a headphone with lower impedance that could be easily run off of my laptop.

Very helpful. My only problem with these is that they're slightly big for my head (and that's not even much of a problem). I bought these with never trying them out before, and I am very glad I did so. You shouldn't have much of a problem with buying these blind.
