    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

Love it! The fact you can customize the room virtualiation size (more or less echo, gsx-1000 is about medium size room by comparison) and head circumference for better virtualization is another winner here. The head tracking is great for videos and games (3d manual). A lot of people seems to be...

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

I had the spherex 5.1 speakers setup for console gaming before. I had absolute a blast of a time playing games like halo, rogue squadron, etc. Too bad my neighbours don't enjoy that as much as I do. But that experiences is exactly why I'm using gsx and getting mobius to simulate that epic feel...

Sure thing kid. Wasting my time helping ones that can't be help is definitely a mistake on my part. People like you is exactly why people stop using traditional forum like this to help others. Try the same on thing Reddit, see how fast u get limited posting rights. Good luck.

What I think is that this is too hard for you to understand. It's ok, stay on console and do whatever you think will make you happy. There's no point of using something that you can't appreciate.

It's ok, take your time and think about it. We all make mistakes.

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

It's very simple, if you plug in your GSX 1000 to stationary speakers, there won't be a problem with positional accuracy. When you plug it in a headphone, it becomes a problem when you move your head because those "speakers" move with your head. Mobius fixes this by "fixing" the positions of...

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

When you move your head, "speakers" move with you unlike stationary speakers. Head relational positioning adjust it to make it seem like those speakers are stationary like in a normal surround speakers setup. But if this is too hard for you to understand, then you should probably just stick with...

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

The game with normal surround assume you are staring at the middle of the screen. With stationary speakers, this is fine as your head change doesn't change the speakers positions. As a normal headphone move with your head, the "speakers" move with it. So the position of the sound becomes...

Are you just not reading or not thinking? I think we are done here. It's like argueing against gamers who think people can't see above 60 fps.

Again, you might not care about that increased in accuracy, it does matter for me. As for the WH1000XM2, the bass was way too muddy for me. Planars tend to solve this problem.

Doesn't have to be 30 degree. Even 5 degree is enough difference to make a difference when you are gaming on PC going around corners. I remember having to kept my head steady in a tight situations like that before to hear the exact positions of enemy coming around the corners.

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

Let's say you are playing CSGO. You sit very close your 4k monitor to spot enemies at the distance. You are looking at your minimal by tilting your head. That angle of differences between looking straight and looking at it can be off by as much as 30 degrees depending on how close you sit to...

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

Yea, but HRTF + Head tracking + LDAC in one headphone? Not even one of these features is found in most other headphone let alone a powered planar one. So I'm way more than happy enough for its features right now. There's no way Audeze built this by themselves without some relation to ossic

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

Yea I looked into this before actually. Apparently Dolby doesn't want people to decode surround to their PC to prevent piracy and flooding the market with cheap decoders. So sound blaster extigy was one of the last PC Dolby surround decoder. Until x7. All other consumers decoders after can only...

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

Oh you are talking about console. Yea you'll need a Dolby or DTS decoder that can pipe that surround signal into a PC so you can output that again to the headphone. But might get lag through a long chain like that. Its unlikely that it'll get first party usb surround support from Sony or...

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

Exactly, positional accuracy is one extra benefit of head position transformation as detailed by the Head-Fi video. So you get more accurate sound cue in FPS games. As for movie, the benefit is like having a virtual surround speaker setup in your room where speakers stay in the same position no...

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

Well that depends on the usefulness of immersion to you. To me, that immersion is important for certain movies and games. That's why I got gsx1000 in the first place for surround immersion. Head relational add another layer to that immersion on top of surround sound. I'd suggest watching...

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

Yea of course, I'm describing the benefit of head relational transformation for normal movie watching. VR has build in head translation just like mobius

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

Well having experienced watching 3D movies in a VR, the difference is the speakers will stay stationary when you move your head around when watching the movie. Its subtle sure. But it gives you that next level of immersion.

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

That's the beauty of it, the game doesn't need to do anything different except outputting 5.1 or 7.1 surround. The headset does the spatial transformation + HRTF based on the surround sound signal. I think OSSIC probably did some undertable deal with Audeze and liquidated their techs to them.

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

Yes. But since the discount period has passed, you might as well wait for more reviews. I'll check back later and let u know. The reason why I'm recommending it to you over gsx1000 before I heard it is because for your case, I believe its a better choice based on the information I got. But my...

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

I have the gsx1000, waiting on mobius. Based on all the reviews I've seen, this is the "game" changer.

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

I'm waiting for mine too. But all the reviews so far seems to be raving its gaming abilities. Just for his case, I'd think the mobius upgrade makes a lot of sense.

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

I'd just buy a Audeze mobius. Its way more advance than gsx1000 and give you a better headphone than the x1. It has head tracking with HRTF. Meaning you'll be able pin point foot step even when you move your head around.
  25. happycamperjack

    Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

I'd stay away from tubes for this. It screw with the 7.1 virtualization frequencies too much to make it accurate for pin point surround, and maybe that's why you are having problem with the competitive games. You want to go for the cleanest high power amp to amplify those frequencies.
