I am currently showing 37,060 songs in my library. I haven't had any issues yet, but I'm still fairly new to this device. I can shuffle by genre and it seems to see all of the items in each. No lag to speak of between songs on shuffle, either.

That's funny, I went to the FIIO X5 forum for playlist help, too.  I guess I didn't mention that my playlist files were all from the same card.  Does putting the slot number in front allow playlists to play from both cards?

  Yeah, that was a tough call for me, but I really wanted the playlists.  I've renamed about 20,000 files so far.  Music Bee made it pretty easy though. You still have to rename them one by one, but you can do it from a pop out window and hit the next button as you go, rather than browsing...
