Walking home from the grocery store yesterday someone dumped this out on the street, I stopped and looked, and went on my way. :)

How do these metal band Tung-Sol 6sn7 sound? Any different than the regular one? Someone just paid over 400 bucks for a single one. I bought a 12sn7 version of it years ago for maybe 30 dollars, but that amp will never be built now, so I don't know how it sounds...

Very, very sad to hear the news. I just paid my final payment for my amp on Feb 13 and he was building it, he asked me what color knobs I wanted and I never heard from him again. I guess I lost everything?

I had a BHC awhile ago and I know I have some good singles left that I will never use, let me have a look tomorrow, believe it or not, I think they are hiding in some kitchen cabinet my wife couldn't reach up to.

I remember something about the 6BL7 not sounding that good with a single tube on each side and that people started to enjoy it when they were used in quads.

Not those, even though I have a pair of them, those have some oval mica, they sound way better than the regular 6n8s, but not as good as the best ones. Here I found the good, better, best picture and it is correct :)  

I have a pair of those from 1952 or 1951, they are yours if you enjoy that pair, they sounded flat and lifeless compared to the 6n8s with holes in them, they were worse than any 1950's American 6sn7 tube I heard.  I think I heard them with 6520's too :).

You talking about those expensive metal 6sn7w? I don't like the regular ones, short bakelite bottles, at all compared to other tubes.

  You never mentioned how it sounded. I didn't like a Sylvania 7AF7 I tried in my Crack, it sounded really thin and missing any body, if that makes sense. 

  There has been some other English 6n7gt on ebay for the longest time and cheap, but it seems they sold out now. I didn't buy it because I bought a bunch of Visseaux 6n7gt for 5 or 6 euros each and figured I didn't  need any more. I wonder if they are actually English, the base looks like the...

  No adapters? That would even leave out 6f8g and 6c8g too, leaving just 6sn7 then. Just leave all the stuff here and skip over the stuff you don't want to read.

  I will probably buy those next, but I keep wasting money on tubes. Found 8 National Union 7n7's this week and I hope 1/2 of them are ok and sound around as good as the Tung Sol 6sn7.

I said it didn't have the air the 6sn7 have for me. I don't know how that is prejudiced in any way. Maybe we have different definitions of it. I don't care what people like, it is their choice.  I also was just saying I don't really hear much separation between instruments like I do with the 6n7...

Really strange way to phrase this. People that didn't care for it much were biased?
