Apologies if this is in the wrong forum... As a (late) Christmas gift to myself, I finally finished modding my Grado SR80e headphones. Everything but the stock gimbals and drivers were replaced. Parts/Materials: Thinner Steel band, Aluminum blocks, Leather band (All from rholupat) Zebrawood...- pezhore

Grado Driver Removal SR80e
I tried using my X-acto knife, but the tip just broke off when trying the stab and move method @umeng2002. @Oscar-HiFi - thanks for the idea of using tape when cleaning up the edges, I hadn't thought of that!- pezhore

Grado Driver Removal SR80e
With some trial and error I figured out a solution. Using a hand coping saw, I cut down the front casing at each of the four divots on the shell to *just* before the driver. I then used a pair of pliers to grasp each piece as close to the driver as possible, then pulled away from the center/back...- pezhore

Grado Driver Removal SR80e
I've tried searching a bit, but most links appear broken/have no pictures - Has anyone had success in removing their Grado SR80e/SR60e drivers from the plastic casing? I used the hairdryer technique to remove the grill/back half of the plastic shell, but I'm at a loss as to how I can remove the...- pezhore

Work headphone replacements
I had a pair of unbranded Brainwavz hm5 from Jaycar in Australia that worked great - well worth the shipping to the states. They quickly became my go-to headphones for work not only because they kept out ambient sound from my fellow cube-dwellers (essential for voip calls) but also for their...- pezhore

Bravo Audio - funny looking little tube amps
I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I prior to performing the crosstalk mod on my newly arrived Bravo V2, I was getting significant distortion sounds in the right side when panned to the left, and distortion/music in the left side when panned all the way to the right. After the...- pezhore

Next step up from my Senn HD 203s
I'm looking for a step up from my ~3 year old Sennheiser HD 203s - ideally the price range would be around $100-150 USD. They would replace my HD 203s at work and be primarily used to drown out office discussions (good sound isolation with little sound leak would be ideal). I'm relatively happy...- pezhore

Headphone Amplifiers for a beginner
My source is mostly an HP Business Class ProBook - music (google music, local MP3s & FLACs) and video (Youtube, netflix, etc). I currently use the headphone out, but there is a line out on my laptop dock. Plugging my Senn HD 203s into the line out results in a mono/flatter sound. I also...- pezhore

Headphone Amplifiers for a beginner
I'm relatively new to the head-fi forum, and I'm beginning to look at how I can enjoy my music on a higher level. A few years ago I picked up a pair of Sennheiser HD 203s and I was immediately blown away by the difference in comparison to my more generic headphones. I'm considering either...- pezhore
