My "newbie" review of the TBSE1 (special edition Koss ProDJ100)
Quote: I am glad sharing my experience helped. You got a great deal on some nice headphones. When I first got my headphones I had seen reviews that there could be problems with the ears, so I am not sure if it was that expectation or not, but I did experience some problems...- WickedZen

My "newbie" review of the TBSE1 (special edition Koss ProDJ100)
Quote: I have a couple of them by me as well. It was more convenient for me to just order online but it was what sealed the deal, having a place to go to if I ended up having a problem. I like having piece of mind for my purchases.- WickedZen

My "newbie" review of the TBSE1 (special edition Koss ProDJ100)
Quote: I think I recall seeing similar reactions. My own search was pretty frustrating. When I would find something I liked and checked reviews, I would often find just as many negative comments as positive ones. I think there are several things you need to keep in mind. Not only do...- WickedZen

I actually really liked my Creative Fatality Headset. It served me well 14 months. I could have continued the upkeep on it but I decided it was time to move on. I did actually consider the Creative Aurvana Live. I had seen a lot of good reviews of it. In Mad Lust Envy's Headphone gaming...- WickedZen

My "newbie" review of the TBSE1 (special edition Koss ProDJ100)
I received my TBSE1 yesterday. Just in case someone finds their way here that doesn't know, these are basically the Koss ProDJ100 but they can with Tony Bennett’s signature, a free download of some of his music, a hard shell case as well as a detachable cable-which was the main draw for me...- WickedZen

Looking to buy Headset / Headphones - Need some advice
Quote: I actually did review that thread quite extensively. It was very helpful. However most of the better scoring headphones were out of my price range but it did provide me a good head start on what to look for. I ended up going with the TBSE1 because the Pro DJ100 had some good...- WickedZen

Looking to buy Headset / Headphones - Need some advice
In the off chance anyone finds their way to this thread I wanted to give a quick update. After a lot of research and deliberation, and finding a great deal, I ordered the TBSE1 version of the Koss Pro DJ 100. My plan is to add a mic, my detachable mic from my Creative Fatality Headset, to...- WickedZen

TBSE1 w/ detachable audio cable - Wanting to add detachable mic.
I had been using a Creative Fatality headset for gaming on my laptop. After doing several cable repairs, and the headphone jack starting to go out, I started shopping for a new headset. After doing some research, and finding a great deal for $49, I bought the TBSE1 version of the DJ100...- WickedZen

I used a Creative Fatality Headset for 14 months for gaming and vent through my on-board audio. Never had an issue except for that on the occasions I would watch movies, video files had low sound and background noise from the room around me would prevent me from hearing even with my laptop...- WickedZen

Thanks for the suggestions. As I mentioned I will be mostly using these on a laptop, will any of these need or benefit from an amp to improve the volume and sound quality? At the moment I am taking a hard look at the Koss TBSE1 / DJ100 headphones and I am particularly interested in...- WickedZen

I have been using the Creative Fatality HS-800 40mm driver headset for a little over a year. I use it with my laptop that has the ALC892 Realtek onboard audio. The headset worked well for me over a year but then started having multiple problems, requiring cord repairs so I started shopping...- WickedZen

Looking to buy Headset / Headphones - Need some advice
Due to the lack of any stand out options at the moment, I am thinking of just sticking with my current Fatalities, though I will have to mod/repair them. They are not the greatest but have worked well for the $40 cost. My only complaint is that sometimes with media, music or videos, I have to...- WickedZen

Looking to buy Headset / Headphones - Need some advice
Further research has revealed that the Technical Pro HPT990 is a semi-open headphone. I really need to be able to "drown out" background noise when I am studying and not have a lot of "leakage" when I am gaming at night and everyone else is in bed. So I am looking for any "closed" headphone...- WickedZen
