New DJ Headphone from Beyer
The DJX-1, listed here at the top; http://www.beyerdynamic.co.uk/beyer%...udioheads.html Not sure of a release date. Looks interesting The headband looks... ok, I guess, will have to see in person. Regarding headbands I also heard that Beyer will be making modifications to the...- Snufkin

How do you take apart Grado/Alessandros?
Just wondering if anyone has disassembled theirs? It looks like the MS-1 is just a case of detatching the headband from the earcups and pulling the "cap" of the earcups off, but I don't want to risk forcing it if I'm wrong. I'd like to know how to replace the cable on them if it should...- Snufkin

AKG K271S - Am I missing something?
After all the praise these headphones have had around here I expected something pretty good. The first pair I received sounded terrible, so I sent them back. The second pair I received sound identical and the supplier confirmed that the first pair wasn't faulty. Ok, so what's the big deal...- Snufkin

Alessandro MS-Pro (or RS-1) strange resonance?
Does anyone else notice that there are certain frequencies that sound a little odd on these headphones? For example, if you cup the back of the headphones or put your hands near the back of the chambers you can change the sound characteristics (usually for the worse) - obviously it makes them...- Snufkin

Visit my dads website :D
Pimp hat on! I'm assuming this isn't against the forum rules, I hope it's not! My dad finally put some of his stuff up on a website - be gentle on the design and layout of the site though, it's still under development (there's even mistakes here and there). FYI, he's a jeweller...- Snufkin

Even more new Beyers!
I just got pricing today on Beyers new Trend line (DTX700, 800 and 900) - they fit between the $140AU and $199AU Range - RRP (no pricing on the wireless yet). Upon further investigation, I found the PDF here which has some buds and clipons! DTX10, 20, 30 and 40. There's also a picture in...- Snufkin

Arcam Diva CD73?
http://www.arcam.co.uk/diva/hifi/cd73.html Thoughts, comments? Quote: The Burr Brown DAC used in the earlier models has been replaced by the remarkable WM8740 multi bit sigma delta DAC from Wolfson Microelectronics, which has the lowest noise and distortion figures we have ever...- Snufkin

Itchin' to upgrade, should I scratch?
Ok, I've been considering a source upgrade for a while, but I'm really unsure. Some good advice here would be very much appreciated At the moment I use my Pioneer DV655A as a source, it supports DVD-A and SACD which is pretty handy, but I've started to wonder if it would be worth moving...- Snufkin

Decent source in Australia
Well, it's time I got myself a decent source. Currently I'm running digital out from my Santacruz into my ART DI/O but I figure there's probably a more elegant way to do it in the form of a real cd player. So if anyone has suggestions, or offers of second hand equipment, to a poor Aussie in...- Snufkin

Request for fellow members

New Beyers for me to play with - 331, 531
DT531 initial impressions - I don't know if I'm just crazy, but these are NICE - so far I like them more than the DT831, and I'm pretty sure I'm liking them more than the 770pro. I'll have to do a bit more listening, but my jaw dropped within the first few minutes of listening. To put...- Snufkin

Heard the Philips HP890s
I'm quite impressed, they're really nice cans. I never realised how HUGE they were though, and I thought Beyer 770/831s were big ! Very nice relaxed sound, melodic but not recessed bass, revealing but not harsh highs and warm midrange. Not -quite- as good as the Beyer 250-80s, but...- Snufkin

Beyer 931 vs 250?
Just wondering if I should check myself out a pair of 931s.. Headroom say that the 931s are a little thin on bass, but the graphs put the bass response as being similar to the 250-250s. I'd like something with a teensy bit less bass than the 770pros, but a little more than the 250s. Without...- Snufkin

Philips 890s vs ?
For those that have heard the Philips 890s, what would you say is a comparable headphone as far as type of sound goes? And how would you say they sound compared to headphones like Senny 570s or 590s ? Just curious- Snufkin

Best price/performance DIY tube amp?
I know a few people who'd be able to do a GSETDI (get someone else to do it) project, so I'm thinking of bribing someone to make one up for me. So... * Not too expensive. * Well suited to 250ohm headpones - specifically Beyer 770pros, but also suited to alternatives if I...- Snufkin

Objective: a more well-rounded headphone
Ok, so I want to cut down my collection a little. I love the 831s for their fidelity. I love the 250-80s for their enclosed portability. I love the 770s for their "in my own universe" and wonderful bass I love the 990s for their openness at times 231s are going in favour of the ksc-50s...- Snufkin

Amp upgrade time?
I'm wondering if I should upgrade/crossgrade my amp to better suit my setup and listening tastes.. At the moment I'm driving different Beyer sets from my X-Cans and I'm wondering if it's not the best combination. Basically I got the X-Cans at a REALLY good price otherwise I would have gone...- Snufkin
