    Pictures of your speaker setup!

Tannoy Berkeley's. I find that once you get used to larger speakers, it's impossible to move back to smaller ones. These make a very enjoyable sound in the entire room.

Full, messy rooms do tend to sound better. ;)

    Calling All "Vintage" Speaker Owners

Quote:   Yes Rob, with a PRA 1000 pre. I'm not sure the preamp can match the one that I already had, so there's some swapping to do. The guy I bought it from had a beautiful black Akai system, all with wooden panels in perfect shape. Didn't know they made that kind of quality...

Yey new amp day,         Subtle improvement compared to the 12 watt Hiraga. Bit less up front but the idea of having plenty headroom is nice.

    Calling All "Vintage" Speaker Owners

Besides my main system I have a second smaller system with some DIY horns and an old Marantz amp. It sees no use at all. I also still have the Tannoy SRM-10b's. I can't get myself to sell them because I really like them, but they don't get used either. Multiple systems don't work for me, I...

    Calling All "Vintage" Speaker Owners

Ha, very nice Rob! I never realized your S-1010's are so large. Makes me wonder, how does your vintage set stack up to the 800's? I have one system, but I could imagine it being hard to really enjoy a vintage system when you have another, very high end system. I've listened to 800's only once...

Post A Photograph Of Your Turntable

Thanks, however compared to most setups here it's fairly basic. It's a Thorens TD-147 with an Ortofon MC3 Turbo. I put it on spikes in the hope that it would fix some vibration issues (wooden floors...) but it's not helping, so I'll need a wallmount soon.    For the rest I use an AVM V3...

Can you compare them with large DIY horns using 6" or 8" fullrange drivers?

I'll drop by! Unfortunately, I have no more headgear. I can provide a decent CD source and preamp though.

This forum is changed, but for what, better or worse?!!!

This forum is changed, but for what, better or worse?!!!

Hey Sergei, I agree, but I think it's just us old users who like to keep things the way things are and not have any changes. Changes are difficult for us because we got used to the old, but I'm sure the new(ish) members think this place is great (and it is!). I've seen multiple forums outgrow...

Finally; NEW Massive Attack album "Heligoland" coming in Feb:

Been playing this album a couple times a day of three days now, and it'll be played for at least daily for a long time to come. I've recently seen them live and they performed a large part of the album (new songs to me then) and from then on I couldn't wait to get it. Good stuff. Pray for rain...

    Dutch Mini-meet (November 8th) - impressions

Hey guys, long time no see. Thanks for the PM, otherwise I would've missed the thread. Will see if I can join the fun (if there's still a spot left!). I won't be bringing any headphones but could bring a source or two (cd player and vinyl).
