Almost none? The difference puts the drivers about 1-2mm farther away from your ear. From my POV there is no sound quality if they aren't comfortable (because I won't use them). It's not like I'm putting bowls on - those you definitely can tell a big difference as you might expect. Pads...- Icehawk

Alrighty, got my 325i (c2004) back from Grado - mount is fixed and they recabled it with the same as on the Hemp. Wish they'd given one foot more on both. I have been using the Hemp every day for gaming, music, and videos out of a Modi/Magni 3 combo from my PC. I stand by my initial...- Icehawk

I haven't tried bowls yet :D I'm going to give the flats another go with de-cheese gratering applied and see how they feel & sound.- Icehawk

It's too soon to give them a fair review, suffice it to say coming from my primary source... they don't sound as good to me as my 325i. That doesn't surprise me much, I've had the 325i for 14 years so their sound is my baseline for comparison and I think on initial listen most cans are going to...- Icehawk

Hemps have arrived. Cosmetically 10/10, no blems as I've seen mentioned in a few places. I've got Phish queued up and 420 supplies...- Icehawk

My Hemps will be here Weds and then I will send my 14 year old SR325i for 2nd recable and a replacement of one of the gimbal headband attachments. Show me another set of cans that you can use daily for 14 years without more of it falling apart. Oh yeah, only on my 2nd or 3rd set of pads too...- Icehawk

Oopsies "Thank you for placing your order. Your order number is 28105." Once they arrive I'll send the 325i in for the recable/repair.- Icehawk

I'll admit... I'm "this" close to trying some Hemp's. My 45th birthday is just over a month away and I'd hate to be without cans while getting the 325i serviced.- Icehawk

Nothing major - they just need to have one of the plastic pieces that connect the gimbal to headband replaced as it no longer is attached and it probably could use its 2nd recable too. Like I said you guys may just tell me to stick to what I got since I don't *need* to replace them and I'm...- Icehawk

Yup, the gold ones. Like I said I love their sound! I guess I prefer the way the metal ones look and I know the two models I've liked are metal - I have little experience with their wood cans. The PS500e looks similar to me chassis-wise to the PS1 but I am way out of date on what the...- Icehawk

Curious what the Grado fans here would recommend for me - I have 325i and LOVE them. I haven't done a headphone jam since I got them almost 15 years ago so my last point of comparison is that dated... at the time the only other headphones I would have gone for were the PS1 but they were out of...- Icehawk

Reshell old UE Superfi.5 vs new IEMs
Those look quite nice with the CNC'd shells but they are a bit more than I'd like to spend. All ears for other suggestions for a clean sounding BA IEM closer to $200.- Icehawk

Reshell old UE Superfi.5 vs new IEMs
Wish I had them reshelled when they broke a long time back when it was easy to find services & they were cheap. Seems like a reshell is in the $250-300 range which is about what they cost new. Considering the UEs are at least a decade old I'm *assuming* I can get better sound in the same...- Icehawk

[REVIEW] Westone Adventure Series ADV Alpha - A Thing That Goes Thump in the Night
These headphones don't isolate much... and foam earplugs typically have much higher NR ratings than IEMs.- Icehawk

[REVIEW] Westone Adventure Series ADV Alpha - A Thing That Goes Thump in the Night
I can understand why you would think that - however most serious motorcyclists wear earplugs. My (DOT approved) full face helmet has bluetooth and I can listen to tunes that way as well. It crapped out on me so instead of running earplugs & bluetooth I'm using an IEM. You may not know how...- Icehawk

[REVIEW] Westone Adventure Series ADV Alpha - A Thing That Goes Thump in the Night
So I've had these a few weeks and while I'm still not in love with the sound signature if I'm trying to use them for critical listening... it turns out I don't use them that way - these are my "active" headphones that I use when washing dishes, riding my motorcycle, etc and for that they work...- Icehawk

[REVIEW] Westone Adventure Series ADV Alpha - A Thing That Goes Thump in the Night
I wonder if you can remove the filter from the eartip stalk? Perhaps that would help - I really like a lot about these IEMs other than the weird sound signature. Planning on returning though at this point.- Icehawk

Multi-IEM Review - 352 IEMs compared (Pump Audio Earphones added 04/03/16 p. 1106)
I want someone to pull the filters of their Westone ADV and see if that helps, I love the design but the sound isn't right.- Icehawk

[REVIEW] Westone Adventure Series ADV Alpha - A Thing That Goes Thump in the Night
Decided to give these a whirl, I'm in total agreement with prior reviews - awesome build, kinda weird sound signature heavily bass skewed. Seems like upper mids are way off to me, can be EQ's to some semblance of normality but I'm not sold on them at this point. I prefer the sound of my older...- Icehawk

Westone Adventure Series - New Dynamic Driver for rugged activities: Impressions and Discussion
Wanted to add a little more info - cable is pretty low on microphonics, it will make noise when it rubs but not when you tap on it, if the sheathing wer smoother it would probably be even less. Comfort is good although I haven't played with tips yet and my customs are for UE so don't...- Icehawk

Westone Adventure Series - New Dynamic Driver for rugged activities: Impressions and Discussion
Decided to give these a shot since my buds/iems always take a bit of a beating, my poor UE 5s need a reshell and my cheaper UE vi plug went. I wanted an IEM for use with my iPhone and mobile listening and these seemed reasonable cost-wise. So far I agree with other reviews - these are...- Icehawk

That looks like a great space to use Miguel. What is the parking situation? My custom tips for my UEs should arrive early next week, can't wait to see how those feel.- Icehawk
