Good Headphone Amp, Do I really have to spend over $400?
Why not the Corda? It's a super great amp and it's not dark so it matches up with the dark HD600s quite nicely IMO..... It sounds lovely, especially with a nice Clou cable.....- sordidman

Corda & Crossfeed
Hi, Got my Clou red last night and it really opened up the system. Thanks a lot Dark Angel. This cable is a BIG, HUGE improvement over the stock cable. There is now a lot more detail and extension to the music, - overall much less bassy sounding and more musical. Dark Angel, do you...- sordidman

Review Corda Headamp w/HD600s
Hi, Thanks again for all of the headphone suggestions and cable suggestions. Anyone compare the Clou Blue with the Clou Red? Is the red substantially better, - more revealing- high end, - than the blue?? Thanks,- sordidman

Review Corda Headamp w/HD600s
Hi Dark Angel, Wow, thanks a lot for your tips. I really appreciate it. I am a big Sennheiser fan and, - if at all possible, - would like to stick with their products. But the sound is the important thing. I don't see too many reviews/postings about the HD590s. But, your advice on the Clou...- sordidman

Review Corda Headamp w/HD600s
REVIEW: Corda Headamp & Sennheiser HD600 PREFACE, WHO I AM and WHAT ARE MY GOALS: I add this as I believe that before I get started, - I should point out that I believe that there is no objective right and wrong with reviewing equipment. Since music and music making equipment is an art form...- sordidman

Vibrapods Review
Hi, Good points for sure. That sounds right, - speaker dampening is probably much different than CD player dampening. Comparitively, - SSC pucks are more expensive than Vibrapods for sure. Maybe I should give the Vibrapods another try underneath the CD player. It's interesting that you... -
Vibrapods Review
Hi, IMHO, Vibrapods are not very good. They are very cheap but they dull out the sound and limit extension everywhere!!!! I have used them extensively and never found them to be a benefit to any equipment. My suggestion is to get SSC pucks for speaker isolation, - they also make a great... -
HD600 "dark"?
Thanks Slindeman, That sounds like good news on the "neutrality" of the Corda/HD600 combo. We'll see what happens when I get it going. I guess my main worry is not on the "neutrality" of the Headphone system, but it's comparison to the "neutrality" of the main system. What I'll do is check...- sordidman

HD600 "dark"?
Hi, Thanks a lot for your reply. Right, - I could also say "full-range." What I mean is that my speakers may not be so "full-range," and I'm concerned that the HD600 Corda system will sound too disparate from amp/speakers combo. Perhaps a better choice would be HD590 and the Corda. I...- sordidman

HD600 "dark"?
You guys are really starting to scare me with this HD600 analysis. I am worried now that I bought too dark a headphone. (In relation to the fact that I probably have what you all would call an overly bright amp/speakers combo). I guess I should just chill and wait until I get the Corda and see...- sordidman

HD600 "dark"?
Hi, This is a very interesting thread to me. I was curious what you all thought about the HD590s compared to the HD600? Their reputation is that they're "brighter" than the HD600. I am listening to my HD600s through a lousy integrated, - Onkyo. My Corda is on order..... My goal is to not...- sordidman

Bright Headphone amps
Hi, Wow Merlin, Thanks a lot for your comments. Yeah, I really like the Levinson TSM combo and I have a very small room. I am only sitting about 8 feet back from the speakers that are 6.5 feet apart. I sometimes worry that I'm not getting enough range out of TSMs and am thinking about...- sordidman

My new CDP came in...and I'm downright disappointed
Hi, Maybe part of this is break in time. Maybe the Rega needs a bit of a break in period.??? My Arcam definitely sounded better after 150 hours. It's probably not as dramatic as speakers, speaker cable or even amplifiers, - but it may be something to consider. My amplifier is notorious for...- sordidman

Any recommendations besides the Creek? I like what I've read about the crossfeed feature on the Corda but not what I've read about Headroom amps. I can't afford the Sugden Headmaster..... Any bright sounding solid state amps in the $200 to $350 range?- sordidman

Bright Headphone amps
Thanks MacDEF, It'll take me about 2 weeks to get in my amp. I'll let you know, if you can wait until then?? I can't imagine any amp being worse than the headphone jack in my Onkyo integrated. And, if the HD600 and amp combo are just a little more "full bodied" then my current amp/speaker...- sordidman

Hi Markl, Thanks a lot. What you say makes really good sense. I guess that I should have researched the HD600s a little more carefully. They have a great reputation and I also got a screaming deal. And, I really loved my Sennheiser HD 420SL. I would say that although the 420SLs are too...- sordidman

My new CDP came in...and I'm downright disappointed
Hi, Based on all I've read that you've said. I too, must recommend the Arcam FMJ CD-23. I own it and think that it blows away just about everything under $5000. I understand and appreciate your tough position about bailing on the Jupiter. I wish that I can say that I've heard it and that the...- sordidman

And The Tweaks Continue
Hi, You should really try SSC pucks. They are absolutely unbelievable. Unquestionably my best Audio purchase. They cost about $225 for 8, - which, - for what they do, - is incredible. I have 8 under my speaker stands and the improvement was amazing. They brought out tighter, crisper bass...
