JDS Labs C5D Headphone Amp + DAC
Really great and comprehensive review JS, thanks for taking the time! I found your entry right as I was trying to understand the first problem you pointed out - how to connect an iOS7 device to the C5D without having 26 feet of wire and connectors sticking out all over the place. It appears...- texastrader

Shure 846 vs. JH Roxanne's
fermelom - Yesterday I finally went to the Audiologist (one of Sensaphonics' preferred "Golden Ear" locations) and got impressions made for a pair of custom sleeves for my SE425s. Today, I start looking through Head-Fi for comments on the sleeves and learn for the first time about "full...- texastrader

Burson Audio HA-160
timtoo - I would probably be safe in guessing that the Burson HA-160 would be a good amp for just about any headphones, excepting Stax and other Electrostatics. PLENTY of power and my LCD-2v2 can handle all you can throw at them! I think they (the LCD-2s) are rated for 2W or something...- texastrader

iPod Classic issues - Selling with music files loaded
Thanks all for your advice on this. Actually, I'm selling the iPad in a package deal with the rest of my system and I will give the music away for free, as part of the deal. I'll even send a seperate HDD with the files if the buyer so desires. I don't think I'm breaking any laws by doing this...- texastrader

Audeze's LCD2 Rev 2
jerg - No, these mine are the newer Rev 2s with the angled plastic connectors. And they are pretty much pristine with everything that came with them. I plan to list them in the classifieds soon, along with a Burson HA-160 Amp, PS Audio DLIII DAC, Cabmbridge Audio ID-100 Dock and a loaded 160GB...- texastrader

iPod Classic issues - Selling with music files loaded
Thanks. I guess I could include a separate HDD with all the music files in the sale. At least that way someone could start with a clean iPod and upload the files from the 2.5" HDD. Mostly I'd just like to able to get a better price for it by including all the music I've accumulated over the years.- texastrader

iPod Classic issues - Selling with music files loaded
alv4426 - I agree and that would be true if these were all iTunes songs, but only about 500 of them are. Everything else is 'open source' if that makes any sense. Most songs are from CDs I've ripped, or files from somewhere else. Doesn't that negate the iTunes problem?- texastrader

iPod Classic issues - Selling with music files loaded
Okay, I posted this in the wrong section, so reposting here... I have an iPod Classic that I'm using as my primary source, connected through a Cambridge Audio ID-100. I'm thinking about listing my whole setup in the classifieds, but I need to know if I can sell the iPod too. It's loaded...- texastrader

PS Audio Digital Link III DAC
I'm getting ready to sell my entire headphone system soon and I have a PS Audio DLIII DAC as my "source", which is fed by an iPod through a Cambridge Audio ID-100 dock. Is this still considered a decent DAC? I know there are much newer ones out there, but I think the DLIII sounds great and...- texastrader

Burson Audio HA-160
Anybody still think the Burson HA-160 is a great amp these days? I know the pace of new amps coming out and new, better audio technology releases rivals that of digital cameras, but I still think this is terrific amp and wonder if I can still get a good price for it?- texastrader

I have an iPod Classic that I'm using as my primary source, connected through a Cambridge Audio ID-100. Strange Static, Crackling, Phenomenon - L side only!
I am tentatively set up to see an audiologist about a week from now. I will bring a pair of IEMs and my iPod / Amp combo just in case the Dr. wants to actually attempt to "see" what's going on with this strange phenomenon. I am hoping and praying it's something dumb like hair in my ears or...- texastrader

Another winner from Charleston Cable Company!
First off, please forgive me. My very first post / review in Head-fi of the cables I got from Charleston Cable Company was much, much too long and really without enough relevant information to be worth the 20 minute read. I may have been a little over enthusiastic about the whole idea and...- texastrader

Strange Static, Crackling, Phenomenon - L side only!
JefferyK - yeah, thats pretty much the point Im at now as this is really an intrusive issue. The fact that swapping my cans 180deg on my head doesnt move the problem is quite disturbing. Strange Static, Crackling, Phenomenon - L side only!
So here's a question I've been researching for awhile now, here and on other sites and can seem to find no other instance of this weird thing that happens, it seems like to me alone, and it really getting on my nerves! At higher volumes - not mind blowing, but on the 'high side' - I get a...- texastrader

Charleston Cable Company Headphone Cables and Interconnects
Hey! Thanks for the comment Cassadian! You know, after I posted that and then spent the twenty minutes it took to re-read it, I felt like kind of an idiot for going on and on like that. I really meant everything I said, but I know I can get carried away and wind up with a novel - case in point... -
