Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

Well, crap. I forgot to turn on/charge my KSE1500 for a while. It won't charge now. Anyone knows if battery replacement is possible or am I doomed?

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

Just found out recently that all you need is just the Magisk app from GitHub (official), patch the boot.img file kindly provided by XVortex here (from the stock firmware zip) and you're good to go. It's so simple. Thank you. Really amazing work here. I haven't used my DP-X1 for years since I...

GoVibe Porta Tube+ valve headphone amp/USB DAC in review - beautiful in blue

Definitely a hidden gem. While it may be a little sibilant (only noticeable at high volume), I like it a lot. Some amps make the sound kind of piercing my ears. This doesn't. I don't know if you still have this, but I do. And I just turned it on since 2012.

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

Well, you can't really argue over personal, subjective opinions. Anyway, I'm looking for some cheap velour pads for Ether Flow. Anyone found any or are there any other model's pads that fit the Ether Flow perfectly? I say cheap because I don't particularly care about how they alter the sound, I...

Hidizs Sonata HD DAC cable - new tiny and mighty DAC&AMP

Oh wow, I thought it's the other way around. Glad I read through this page.

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

I've always thought that I either had a defective unit for all these years (left side volume is low compared to the right) or heck, even a defective left ear even though I usually listen at safe volumes. It turns out that I just need to rotate the left earpad until I get that (almost) perfectly...

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

That makes sense. I guess it's like bringing your monitors to a new room, then having to do treatment and fine-tuning of the room.

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

It would be wonderful indeed. I don't know the differences between the two on the inside but since the back cover can be pulled off very easily (not sure if that's normal), perhaps a simple conversion by merely swappung the back cover would do it? Maybe not, maybe it'll destroy the sound but I...

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones

Hi all, I'm wondering if anybody has attempted to convert the Ether Flow from open-backed to close-backed? Or is there a conversion kit lying around somewhere? I'm quite curious how it'd sound like and I don't feel like buying another pair anytime soon.

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

I really do need to pair them again and give them a good listen. I really like the Black filters but I recently switched to the Blues again. I'm waiting for my 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable that I ordered to be done so that I can pair it up again with the Hugo.

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

To me Hugo sounds quite harsh but that is only from a very short listening session when the SE846 was just bought. I only listened to it with the Hugo for a little while last year. Recently I just changed to balanced cables and found out that the Hugo does not have balanced output. Lol, I guess...

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

He. :) Indeed, it is too bright for me. I wish in the next update they could make it go lower. True, there are some Android devices that can have really amazing battery life. My smartphone used to be able to get 8-9 hours of screen on time, which is already Godlike during its KitKat days. As...

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

Honestly, you cannot expect a really good battery life from any Android devices. Ever. But well, as for me, my Onkyo is able to hold on for maybe at most 2 days listening to music WITHOUT the screen being turned on too much. I noticed that the screen often is the culprit for draining the battery.

Yes, exactly. I wanted to state that it doesn't matter at all whether it's a high end device or not but I forgot. lol

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

I assume that you're talking about pairing it with just about any Android devices or smartphones but nah, I've done that for more than a year now. I paired the SE846 with my OnePlus One and it was great. Although the mids were a bit recessed and the bass were a bit muddy it was still a great...

    Sennheiser x Massdrop HD6XX Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV

I let my little brother use the HD650 once and now he just can't take it off. I rarely use it myself but it having really nice warm and packs great punches in the bass department makes me want to get another one for myself to use. I'm really short of light and open headphones. I won't say that...

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

Never happened to me on the DP-X1 and my phone which has gone from CM11, CM12, CM13 to CM14. I think it might be a battery saving thing. Check if you changed anything that could possibly cause the audio to get muted when the screen is turned off. I did this once on my old smartphone and it did...

I've never done any of those JB welding or applying acrylic stuff but I think I still wouldn't because this thing costs quite a fortune. :p I'll try asking my local dealer first and see how it goes. Did anyone else got theirs fixed the same way?

SubSTI: Aren't those just bezels? elwappo99, @Riley Beale: Thanks for the explanations. Bought a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor today. The seller said it will be wired carefully and made sure it is safe (it is custom made). By the way, how does one fix their super ultra loose jack? Mine's 3.5mm jack...

    Chord Hugo

I do, although only on my laptop to be used with my headphones. It works great. Becareful though about the sampling rate that you set on Windows. High res sampling rates usually results in cracklings and stutters when your computer cannot really handle it. This is the case with my laptop, but...

A lot of people said that too. I don't have the tools to measure them sadly. Good thing I found the power supply again (inside a box full of power supplies).

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

I also recently changed my SE846's cable to balanced and thought of doing that too when I want to connect to other sources that only have unbalanced 3.5mm as that is more favorable than changing the cables every time. Are there any references to this?

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

If nobody ported Marshmallow or Nougat for the DP-X1, then no. I don't think anyone did, maybe some tried to port it.
