Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova

Are you sure this wasn't just referring to the design changes from Jupiter? The current shells for the Andromeda are rounder than the Jupiter and use different screws. I am very dubious that CFA has decided to halt production and redesign everything.

    SONY NW-ZX100

No, but I did figure it out. It's a spacer for pairing with an external amp.

    SONY NW-ZX100

I just got my international version, and it came with a little piece of black silicone/rubber with Sony printed on one side and the narrow edges radiused on one side. What is this for?

This would be my vote. I replaced my SE535 with the Westone W30 and am much happier with them in every respect.

B&W C5 Series 2 - Worth the price of upgrade?

I haven't heard the original C5, but compared to the RHA 750i, I think the Series 2 has less bass. It's just about right for me, where the 750i could get overwhelming at times. I like them a lot, possibly more than my SE535.

The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote

What is the issue with the scroll wheel that has been corrected? Mine is very often unresponsive until I turn it a few clicks, but I hadn't brought it up, expecting the usual "limited resources blah blah if you want an ipod buy an ipod" response that criticism is met with. However, if this is...

LO to a UHA-6S.MKII for me. I still think the HO isn't an improvement over a Rockboxed Fuze or Clip+. In my mind, that isn't a dig at all and the extra features of the X1 make it worth the money, but the (X1 into) UHA-6S.MKII is pretty special.

The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote

I mean the Fuze, not the Fuze+. Mine looks like complete hell because it's lived in my pocket with my keys and whatnot, but it is still going strong after 5 or 6 years. I hadn't really taken the build quality into consideration, but if I factor that and the ability to play higher res files, I...

The FiiO X1 Discussion and Help and Support Thread |192K/24B|100mW | LO | inline remote

I'm not sure I'd say it's worse than my Rockboxed Fuze, but I'm not sure it's appreciably better either. I am considering getting an E11k to pair with it, but so far, on its own, I think the extra power output is the only edge the X1 has over a Sansa at half the price. Edited to add that...

X1 beta firmware 1.03beta--now with playlist support

I am really struggling with multi-disc albums. I have them organized in folders as artist/album/CD1 and /artist/album/CD2 with track number (01, 02, etc) prepending each file name. However, accessing the album in Categories piles all of the tracks in order by filename, not by disc order. When I...

New RHA IEMs: The MA750i and MA600i

I picked up a pair of these a few days ago, looking for something with lower bass extension than the RE400, which I do love. All of the stock tips were incredibly uncomfortable (I have a very hard time finding any tips that don't hurt. I had a pair of Comply T-400 lying around and that those...

**MrSpeakers Mad Dog: Impressions and Discussion Thread**

Darn it, I thought the discount on the upgrade to Pro was good through the end of the month :(   Although the price now makes it even less enticing, I'm not getting a feel for just how much better the Pro sounds over the 3.2 that I've got. I know it's subjective and we're getting into...

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

I had the same problem after three weeks (!!!) and just received my replacement from Hifiman...   ...and the rear of one of the barrels is badly scratched, as well as the left sleeve missing the raised dot. I am wondering if I was sent a prototype. I love the sound and they're by far the...

    PSB M4U1 - Thoughts?

Quote: The size is my only issue with them. I have a very large head and have to do quite a bit of finagling to get them to fit down over my ears. I don't find the clamping pressure to be too great, but I think it's only a matter of time before the headband cracks based on the sounds it...

Recommend unto me some IEMs around $200

I'm looking for some IEMs around the $200 mark. I'll go a bit more if necessary, but less expensive is certainly better. Historically, IEMs and I have not gotten along. I have owned Denon AH-C551K and Hippo VB, but both of them were very uncomfortable. I have pretty narrow ear canals, and the...

    The Fiio X3 Thread.

Thanks! I'll take two out of four. That indicates that the X3 has low distortion at least up to 96kHz. I've had trouble with the warbles files as well. I was hoping for a test of a 192kHz file, but that's at least promising.

Quote: Based on Pekingduck's description, it doesn't sound like the X3 will be worthwhile upgrade for me, as the description doesn't sound like a massive improvement. I had previously been pretty excited about the X3 with plans to pick it up as soon as it started shipping in the US, but...

    The Fiio X3 Thread.

Quote: This is all disappointing to read. It doesn't sound like the X3 is a large enough improvement over my Fuze to warrant the extra outlay, especially considering that I don't have anything the Fuze can't drive. Lack of gapless without a cue sheet pretty much clinches the deal.

    PSB M4U1 - Thoughts?

I am surprised at the lack of discussion about these. I went to the local high-end audio store last week to buy a $15 pair of pads for my SR80 and walked out with a pair of PSB M4U 1. I had been trying out some of the higher end Grados to see if I felt any of them had noticeably improved sound...
