Any interest in doing a local head-fi small gathering in SF?

There might just be hope for a large SF head-fi meet! I think I've only seen this pulled off once or twice in the area. Looking forward to it!

Thats the good stuff! Yeah it can be, just need to know where to look. ;)

    DIY Cable Gallery!!

Definitely not the best option because the XLPE insulation is typically the limiting factor, but I've enjoyed it on some of the test cables I've done over the years. It's very unique. If you can get your hands on a solder pot though, I would highly recommend trying Litz out.

We could find a rent out a library space (free and definitely has outlets for amps etc. I know some of the libraries in my area (Walnut Creek) are nice, but not familiar with the options in the city.

https://www.head-fi.org/articles/diy-cable-info-and-resources.14308/ I use this all the time to pull up pin-outs. Scroll down to Headphone connectors and you should see all the designations for all the wiring. 2.5mm and Sennheiser (based on pin size)

DIY Cables- high quality components needed

I can't seem to find it on the website, but Trevor over at Norne Audio has probably the only 4.4mm TRRRS high quality plugs on the market right now. Maybe try shooting him a message and seeing if he has some. That or DHC should have them too, that way you can also get a hold of some of their OCC...

    New Beyerdynamic T5p 2nd generation

Did you do any modification to head T5p's or is it straight out of the box. I always found them a little clampy as well as heavy (can't do much about that). I love the T5p an T1 sound, but couldn't seem to keep wearing them for hours and hours. I've had a lot of luck with Fostex TH series...

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.

Definitely second for that stepped drill bit, it'll allow you to put a nice chamfer on the edge of the holes and keep the driver from striking any of the burrs. I remember when I first started getting into modifying the venerable KSC75's and I used a razor blade to deburr the edges! :dt880smile...

    Why the Beats Hate?

Forgot about that. I do expect apple will release a better product, but I doubt it will be to the same level as a dedicated audio company. I don't expect the beats to have anymore increased durability. Apple is the king of planned obsolescence.
