    Alo Audio Continental V2

I still use my V2 with my HD800. I like this pairing!

ATTN: Waterloo, Kitchener, Guelph Head-fiers (and any other nearby locations) - meet in Fergus

I'm also sorry that you had to cancel, and thanks for trying! I'd love to attend one of these in the future, and I'd be willing to help out.

ATTN: Waterloo, Kitchener, Guelph Head-fiers (and any other nearby locations) - meet in Fergus

I'd like to come, if there's still a spot. What kind of gear will be there already? I could probably bring a couple of things. Cool that there's something in the area! Thanks for hosting!

I agree with cb3723. With all of those features, some EQ would also be nice.

    Fiio E17 won't charge/turn on

I also had an E17 that wouldn't turn on, and the reset button fixed it. Thanks for the tip!

    ALO Continental PortableTube Amp

I use my Continental around the house, in the backyard, and while traveling. My permanent setup is in the bedroom. If I'm walking around, I'll just plug a portable headphone right into my iPod or phone.

    The Centrance HiFi M8 thread

Looks like a great product! I'm glad to see more advances in a portable DAC and amp.   Regarding the bass and treble boost switches, it would be nice if instead of two levels of boost, there was one level of boost and one level of reduction. Then you could do all the basic EQ curves with the...

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

Quote:   Yep, and the good thing about this discussion is that it's prompted me to dust off the ol' HD650 and listen to it more. It really is a great headphone.

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

Quote:   Nice! There are some hilarious pics there.   Thinking about what picture would capture the Momentum...if the HD650 is a bonfire outside, the Momentum is a cozy fireplace in a small, wood panelled living room.

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

Quote:   Thanks, Greq. Yes, I'm talking about the broad, general flavour, not the specific technicalities. The frequency response curve, if you want to get more technical. FR curves come in a few broad categories: warm, bright, neutral, and u-shaped. (And possibly a few more, like...

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

Quote:   You guys misunderstand me. As I said, "The Momentum is clearly inferior [to the HD650]." You say the same thing yourself when you say, "They aren't even close to being in the same league." So we agree there.   My point was that the Momentum does bear some semblance to the...

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

Quote:   I would say the Momentum isn't too far off from the HD650 sound signature. They're both warm but fairly balanced. The Momentum is clearly inferior, though, if you are comparing them to the HD650 at home with a proper home setup (good DAC and amp). The advantage of the Momentum is...

The Deals Thread II. (READ THE FIRST POST!)

Quote:   Haha, you pusherman!   You're right, it is an excellent price, but I just dropped $1300 on my HD800s a few months ago. I'm not gonna spend $1000+ on a headphone until 2014. Or so I say now.   I need to stop reading this thread... Is there an Audioholics Anonymous or...

The Deals Thread II. (READ THE FIRST POST!)

Never mind...despite 133,475 Yen equaling around $1375 Canadian, Price Japan posts a "price to USA/Canada" at $1524 US.   So good price still, but not as good as I was hoping for. I guess that's including a big shipping cost or something.

The Deals Thread II. (READ THE FIRST POST!)

Quote:   Now it's like $1375 Canadian for the TH900s!   Has anyone here used Price Japan before? That sounds like a great deal.

    Denon AH-D7000

Quote:   Yes, my thoughts exactly. Also, I love the sound of the D7000s as they are, so I don't feel the need to change them.   As it is, depending on my mood, I might reach for the D7000, the HD800, or the HD650. They each bring out something different in the music, and all have...

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

Quote:   In my experience, the E17 offers a subtle improvement in sound when hooked up to my MacBook Pro, plus you might find the treble and bass or balance controls useful. It's not a night and day difference, but the sound is slightly bigger, rounder, deeper and cleaner.   There's a...

I'm rocking the stock, too. I love them the way that they are. :) I tried to access Dakmart from my work computer, and I was blocked. The proxy or whatever said that it was a known malware site. Has anyone heard anything like this before?

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM Review

I just plugged my Momentums into my new BlackBerry Z10 phone, and the controls on the cord work!   Volume up and down, play/pause, etc. Nice! The mic works, too.   I was afraid these were Apple-only controls. I'm glad that's not the case.

    Sennheiser HD800 Appreciation Thread

I'm interested since I use my HD800s on a Graham Slee Solo SRG. But most of what's in that thread is way over my head. The HD800s have a "very slight 'plasticky' sound" on his amps?   I've been enjoying these headphones with the Solo. Maybe a year from now I'd like to buy a good tube amp...

    Sennheiser HD800 Appreciation Thread

Yeah, there's no reason they can't last a long time, which takes a bit of the bite out of the cost. I'm still using the Grado SR-60s I bought in 2000, and the Sennheiser HD-650s I bought in 2006.

    Denon AH-D7000

Quote:   I think the best approach is to buy the HD800s before selling the D7000s. It's really hard to know how much you're going to like a headphone until you have some serious time to spend with it. If the HD800s are all you feel the need, then you can sell the D7000s without any...
