Alesis StudioDock Pro Audio Dock for iPad - balanced headphone output, hmm
Have a look at the website. They confirm balanced out. There are a couple of reviews and a bunch posts on one of the websites. It's the combo XLR-1/4" not sure if XLR is output but they say the dual 1/4" is balanced out. Can a combo connector be two separate things? I do not know. I see...- Severanth

Alesis StudioDock Pro Audio Dock for iPad - balanced headphone output, hmm
Came across this from one of my website perusals. Alesis is not a brand I am familiar with, although I understand they are well established in the musician/studio arena's. Alesis doesn't go into further detail of what is under the hood. So I wonder just how the balanced audio output...- Severanth

Musically smooth and forgiving nearfield monitor speakers, do they exist?
I ended up with some B-stock from Digital Village (www.dv247.com). They have a good selection of "near field" self powered Monitors. Look under studio equipment and then active monitors they will price in euro's. KRK Rokit is popular google for reviews. There are a few choices for... -
Emmeline SR71-B vs iBasso PB2
Brings back the memory of someone else's comments about people being underwhelmed when first using a amp. But LCD2 needs a amp without a doubt. I see from your sig you have the LCD2 balanced, so nothing but goodness there. Are using high quality source? Junk in = junk out after all. ...- Severanth

SR-71B vs. ALO Rx Mk2!!!
Something tells me there is going to be a rash of orders after Jude's video lol. SR71B = overkill for IEM's notice Jude doesn't do this. The opening of the soundstage wont be much running balanced through IEM's Lack of soundstage in IEM's is due to the speakers being so close to...- Severanth

The best portable amp
Tis a beauty of a day isn't it. More on track, i just received my silver/copper hybrid balanced cable. Little bit of audio bliss with HD 650 and RSA SR-71B. When I was in same situation as you Trinicans and fellas my logic was to buy the best possible amp I could afford and that would...- Severanth

leather pads for HE60 and HD580/600/650!
I am having a go at making my own. If it works out will post here. Not cheap buying spare pads only to take apart and re-finish though. Hard part with making this as a small batch say to sell to others is the plastic base for the pads. Either a base has to be made that fits but will...- Severanth

Head-Fi UK Meet: 02/04/2011 - London
At the mention of good ideas. I was reading posts from the Bay Area Meet. Someone suggested that everyone bring the Ear phone bud's that don't fit their ears to swap with each other. Since we all have spare large/medium/large buds tucked away. Seemed like a good suggestion. Pretty sure I...- Severanth

So I was having a look at CES showcase stuff and I came across this video; http://www.astoundsurround.com/news/Astoundsurround-Ceo-Video-Interview-At-Ces Not original link I found it on, but is there. Very similar to surround sound processing for dual speaker and headphones...- Severanth

I know it has already been said, but to support Frankz's comment. I find myself in exactly the same position. REVIEW: Ray Samuels Audio SR-71B balanced portable headphone amp
Thanks Jalo and Jamato8, much appreciated. I had looked at Moon and Whiplash sites but hadn't seen that specific inter-connect. I will also go have a mosey over at the DIY forums as I found the RSA 4 pin connect and get a lot of satisfaction adding a bit of myself to my gear. ...- Severanth

REVIEW: Ray Samuels Audio SR-71B balanced portable headphone amp
Jalo (or anyone that can help ) did you make a DIY cable for the Boomslang to SR-71B inter-connect? Is it off topic to ask what people are using as digital sources and DAC for SR-71B? If there is anything that is known to avoid ie just no synergy, or someone didn't like, would be just as...- Severanth

SR-71B questions
USAudio I don't think that is the consensus. Skylab's SR-71B review found on this forum support that it is just as good some and better than other desktop equivalents. I would hazard to say the product is too new to tell, where it sits in the balanced desktop amp league so to speak. ...- Severanth

UK Head-Fi meet 2011. Thread closed: We now have a venue and a New Thread (see below)
I will need to do a full charge/discharge run to confirm hours but if it gives more than 10hrs I would be surprised. 8 is probably it's limit at medium gain using a LOD from a ipod. I fell asleep with music off but amp on and amp was out of juice in the morning. That was only 5 hrs but...- Severanth
