    CRYOGENIC TREATMENT

However, I have already done that several times and really don't want to ruin the signature of my equipment. Regards, Michael Wolff

    CRYOGENIC TREATMENT

Absolutely correct. But it does do quite a bit for degrading sound properties. Every experience I have had with the cyrogenic has led me to realize that it degrades the sound by rolling off the high end and reducing harmonics of various instruments. This leads to the big misconception that the...

Quote: don't think you can invert the phase on single phase AC... You are correct in that most of the power is single phase coming out of residential homes. Unless you have commercial or heavy duty equipment that can utilize dual phase. Reversing the polarity of a power cord might...

    carbon interconnects

"Would it be accurate to state that Carbon Cables are neutral? Are they more or less neutral than other configurations of cables? Could they be considered warm? if so in what frequency (general) band?" Depends on total construction, what other elements (metals if any) are used in conjuction...

    Room acoustics

gerG, It will have both absorption and reflection characteristics. I have not personally had the experience of listening to their effectiveness, yet. But, that will be remedied come this January at the Home Electronics Show in the room we are using. Right now there is a good chance that...

    Room acoustics

If I may add something to acoustical treatment of rooms. Last night I met with a gentleman in Seattle that has a manufacturing shop which has been making RPG panels for quite a number of years. He has extensive experience in manufacturing sound treatment applications. The reason I met with...

PS Audio Ultimate Outlet - A Summary of Reviewer observations

Quote: Wolffy, I hope you realize that the review is of PS Audio's Ultimate Outlet, a power conditioner, not just an outlet replacement. Thanks for pointing that out, guess I overlooked that and keyed in on the outlet part. PS Audio makes some fine equipment. I happen to use both a...

PS Audio Ultimate Outlet - A Summary of Reviewer observations

I can't say that I agree with any of the above benefits in using the PS Audio outlets. In fact I find just a complete opposite of what is stated. I will never use another nickel coated outlet or other device in my system again. I find that while the nickel is a great corrosion inhibitor the...

    Upgraded Power Cords worth it???

If you have read all the opinions on this forum and others as to the effectiveness of power cords and still think there should be no difference, then you have already answered your own question and saved money. You may be able to get a used computer cord for a $1.50 which would even be a bigger...

Questions about all sorts of cables

Quote: Have you realized how nearly impossible it is to find a used pair of Cardas Golden Reference Power or Golden Reference RCA interconnects on Audiogon or Videogon? They don't come up very often. That says something. It says a lot. I count 18 Golden Reference products on Audiogon...

Thinking about a DRAMATIC system make-over

Quote: am truely suprised at how little support my idea of building a dream digital rig is getting. Gopher, I for one, am a digital maniac. I just cannot go back to cleaning ticks and dust spots off of records to put on a Oracle turntable. I just received a Gryphon Mikado cd player...

    power cords

sure, The difference is EMI/RFI stand for Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). RFI covers frequencies specific in the range of 1kHz-10GHz.

    power cords

With all due respect. RFI is a different animal than EMI. That's where my research and experience lies. The B-2 bomber is stealth because it absorbs RFI rather than reflects it. This is due to it stuctural surface which is made of carbon. Best Regards

    Review: Grover/Wolff Empress Interconnects

    power cords

Just some input on what I believe to be the relationship of RFI and power cords used in audio systems. The grunge that you hear along with your musical information is attributed directly the amount of RFI that is both external and internal to your system. The most sensitive device to that...
