Monster Turbine Appreciation Thread
Quote: Good luck with a response from them. I e-mailed them two days ago, no response. So I called. 4 times. Sat on hold 15 minutes a piece. Finally talked to the operator who said they can't take my phone number and call me when they had a slot. Waited 20 more minutes and...- s2odin

So I got a replacement due to missing accessories. These were in a slightly different package, but these had the right angle connector as opposed to my original straight connector. No return shipping label was included so now I have to wait for them to mail me a stupid label since I don't...- s2odin

Monster Turbine tips
Maybe it's just me, but I can't tell which tips are the "large" on the Monster Turbine. I use the Large on my Senn CX-300's and my UE TF10's. I have a large ear canal so I need the large, but I don't see it included in the tips I received. ...- s2odin

I didn't get any comply foam tips with mine.... =| And I called UE and they said they're not available as a replacement part. So I called Amazon and they said they are out of stock so they can't get me another pair, so they're just going to refund me the money and let me keep them.- s2odin

Quote: The extra 5ish FPS you get with the 6870 isn't worth an extra $60 imo. Plus anything over 30 FPS is considered playable to the naked eye. http://www.anandtech.com/show/3987/amds-radeon-6870-6850-renewing-competition-in-the-midrange-market/1 For GPU comparions. Game testing is...- s2odin

Holy Moley
School here got out for winter break last week. I know my girlfriend only had one final, and she was stoked about that. I remember last year, we got 5 feet of snow in like a 36 hour period, and that canceled finals for the first semester. Good luck.- s2odin

Quote: I would personally stick with the quad core for you. You can always upgrade it later when apps and games take advantage of more than 2 cores. Even now, most games don't take full advantage of the four cores so you will be set for a while.- s2odin

Help With Gaming PC - To those with knowledge, I need your help!
Quote: Nahh. My old laptop was: Asus G51VX-A1 (core 2 quad 2.0 ghz, 4 gb ddr2 800 mhz RAM, nVidia GTX 260m) and I could play Crysis on high 1920 x 1080 with 32 fps. And it never lagged on any other games (Dragon Age Origins / Awakening, The Witcher, WoW). You should get a 4GB...- s2odin

Back up to 8GB of RAM? What's the price difference between a 4 and 8GB kit? Honestly, RAM doesn't add much to gaming experience, maybe 2-3 fps. If you're worried about budget, that's where I would cut it a bit.- s2odin

Help With Gaming PC - To those with knowledge, I need your help!
Quote: OC'ing isn't necessary. Plus you would need really good thermal paste, and a good CPU cooler. A UPS wouldn't power an OC'ed machine for too long, but a normal computer is rated at like an hour I think with a 750w PSU...- s2odin

Help With Gaming PC - To those with knowledge, I need your help!
If you do get a UPS, make sure you get one with Auto Shutdown software. It will take away one USB port and the ethernet iirc, but it's a cool feature. If you can't get to your computer and there's a power outage, it will automatically shut it down when there's x amount of time on the battery...- s2odin
