Anyone with experience with bluetooth adapter for IEMs?
Those BT adapters do look good but I need something that wraps around my neck. I did buy the mee btx2 (still haven't received) but I cannot figure which chipset they contain. There will not be an upgrade of sound quality compared to btx1 since btx2 still uses aptx only (no aptx HD). Bluetooth...- raptor18

Anyone with experience with bluetooth adapter for IEMs?
As I understand it, a Bluetooth v5 device compatible with aptx is not better or of any benefits over a Bluetooth v4 device compatible with aptx. Is this true? If it does aptx, then I don't have to care about any other specs.- raptor18

AKG's New Flagship IEM - N5005
I just bought akg n40 from webhallen and it's crazy good. I don't want to imagine how n5005 sounds. I would personally get the n5005 in front of se846. I haven't tested the n5005.- raptor18

Anyone with experience with bluetooth adapter for IEMs?
I'm looking for a wireless Bluetooth cable for my mmcx headphones (Tin audio t2). There are a lot of alternatives on AliExpress ranging from 10-35 usd with very good specs. Then we have shure bt1 which costs about 100 usd and mee btx1 which costs about 50 usd. I'm confused. Any tips?- raptor18

MEE Audio BTX1 Bluetooth MMCX Cable -- Any owners?
Would someone be kind and test if this can activate google assistant on an android? (Or siri on an iphone?) Edit : it does -
AKG N40
The AKG N40 comes with bluetooth cable but a SE215 is a good idea too. I believe the N40 is way better than the SE215. They are only 50% more expensive than SE215 :)- raptor18

AKG N40
Some IEM requires full seal and some don't. I have IEM that only sounds good when the seal is about 100% and some i have don't require a complete seal. My brother has the WH-1000XM3. They are ace :) But i need IEM so i can always have one side plugged out of the ear when i drive my electric...- raptor18

AKG N40
Does the AKG N40 need a complete seal to sound good? I want something that doesn't need a complete seal to sound good. I also want it to be wireless and be able to activate Google assistant on an android phone.- raptor18

Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread
Yes we did. I switch left and right and tried the other cable. We tried many different sources. Sound is still clear but noticeably lower on the left one.- raptor18

Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread
Hey all I have a UE900 that is playing lower on one side. The sound is still clear, but way lower then the other piece. We have clearned the tip changed cable Made sure the MMCX connection is tight enough. It was used a month ago and all was fine then. We put it in the box and now this. What...- raptor18

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
I just got the KZ ZSR, ZS6, Tin Audio T2, Somic V4, MEMT X5, Swing IE800. I'm absolutely chocked how well the Tin Audio T2 sounds. The ZSR and ZS6 sounds extremly good but have a bit sibilance. The Somic V4 sounds awesome with no Sibilance. I think the X5 was ok, good sound signature but not a...- raptor18

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
Gents Are there wireless headphones which are "always on" and ready to be connected. When i'm in the office and close to the headphones, i want them to connect automatically to my phone and when i leave and come back, they should reconnect automatically. I guess this is science fiction as it...- raptor18

iPhone 7 Will Revolutionize Portable Audio for the First Time in a Decade
Wireless audio is a even worse idea than a wireless mouse and keyboard. One more thing to charge and we need a DAC in all of our headphones.- raptor18

iPhone 7 Will Revolutionize Portable Audio for the First Time in a Decade
NwAvGuy has done measurements on the iphone headphone output and he says they are really really good. He considers some of them as 0 ohm impedance output. I doubt you can hear difference between the Dongle for the iphone 7 and previous iphones. if you think you do, then you need to watch...- raptor18

iPhone 7 Will Revolutionize Portable Audio for the First Time in a Decade
I too start to believe it has a DAC inside. Also if it didn't have a DAC inside it would be slimmer i guess? Something like this? http://www.image-tmart.com/images/C/CL064BL/2.5mm-Male-to-3.5mm-Female-Headphone-Adapter-03.gif Now it's way bulkier than it could be if it was just thin wires?- raptor18

iPhone 7 Will Revolutionize Portable Audio for the First Time in a Decade
Don't you guys believe in yourself that you can learn and get used to Android? The OS is easy to use with many benefits over iOS. As someone mentioned here, iOS is still better as an overall experience but it's only minor. I will definitely not buy a handset without headphone out and it doesn't...- raptor18

Home-Made IEMs
@Shilohsjustice I did the same with my Shure E5 but i can't handle the bad Treble. I think it needs a horn or a better tweeter :) Normally the ED-29689 (similar to the one in the E5 without the possibility for Half coil) doesn't seem to be a wise choice for treble.- raptor18

Home-Made IEMs
I'm still having difficulties trying to get a damper inside a 1,5 mm ID sound tube. I got a tip to buy this special tool to do it. I got something similar but i'm still far away. I really want to do this, so this will be my main task to solve soon. I've halted the hobby over our summer times.- raptor18

Home-Made IEMs
Driving high frequencies is very difficult due to the nature of BA's (and speakers in general) where the impedance raises a lot compared to the rest of the register. The higher the frequency the higher the impedance which makes it more difficult to drive*. That is why you want to have a BA with...- raptor18

Home-Made IEMs
It is to me not logical how you can create a low pass filter with a cap in parallel and a resistor in series. It is only with induction you can create a low pass. What am I missing? @Xymordos Great! What are you comparing in that measurement? Any comparison between Aihua vs Chinese imitation?- raptor18
